CarnivalPride Posted August 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Well, here is the poll to decide it all: What is your favorite Carnival ship class? For me, the Spirit Class wins hands down. It's no contest, they have the best layout in the Carnival fleet. The Destiny/Conquest/Splendor Classes suffer from a major design flaw that is in desparate need of being replaced. Cruisin' Ron VA Posted August 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2008 I like the Spirit class best. Though if I had one wish I would give Spirit class the Promenade deck midship from Conquest class. I like being able to walk past the casino instead of having to walk through the casino. Also I like Enchanted Forest on Legend and Sunset Garden on Pride. jessemon Posted August 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2008 I didn't vote...... You forgot Triumph Class.....;) You also forgot to include the "Class of ship I'm cruising on next".........:p
dan40 Posted August 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Sailed them all and enjoyed them all. [except Splendor, but it will be as good as the rest.] You need an all ships choice on your poll. Ships layout? They've never changed the layout once I'm on board. As long as they don't I can work equally well with whatever layout is there. CarnivalPride Posted August 19, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted August 19, 2008 I didn't vote......You forgot Triumph Class.....;) You also forgot to include the "Class of ship I'm cruising on next".........:p I personally consider the Triumph Class to be a subclass of the Destiny Class. The only real difference between them is the added deck.
jessemon Posted August 19, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 19, 2008 I personally consider the Triumph Class to be a subclass of the Destiny Class. The only real difference between them is the added deck.Destiny is a separate class from Triumph and Victory according to Carnival.....It is a one of a kind. Just like now Splendor is a single class ship........Anyways.....Again my favorite class is the next one I'll be cruising on......

CarnivalPride Posted August 19, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Hmm, so it is seeming to be quite unaminous. The Spirit Class is by far the #1 answer.

Lady_Jag Posted August 20, 2008 #11 Share Posted August 20, 2008 I sailed the Fantasy, the Miracle, and the Celebration. Of the 3, I actually prefer the Celebration (Holiday class). The smaller ship wasn't so overwhelming and easy to navigate. Plus, there were fewer crowds, and I had less sensory overload.
big_duck Posted October 17, 2008 #12 Share Posted October 17, 2008 Hmm, so it is seeming to be quite unaminous. The Spirit Class is by far the #1 answer. Hardly  I've actually been on every class of Carnival ship not just one ship, Legend was my least favorite. Experience tells.
Azure Moon Posted October 17, 2008 #13 Share Posted October 17, 2008 My favorite class of ship changed with my last cruise. I love the Spirit class... and the Legend. It was so easy to get around and, for once, I didn't get lost  :D  . It would be so cool if they'd add a Seaside Theater for evening movies and a Fish and Chips counter to the Legend. Sirwinston Posted October 17, 2008 #14 Share Posted October 17, 2008 I want to try one of the really big Carnival ships But I think I would still like the Spirit class best.... Been on Holiday, Paradise, Elation, and Carnival Pride... Tom in Long Beach
RizzoLee Posted October 17, 2008 #15 Share Posted October 17, 2008 So far, the Fantasy class ships win for me - I appreciate the seemingly fewer crowds. But, the Legend poses a new class experience, so we'll have to see after that! (OT: I thought the Legend did have a fish and chip spot? I'll be disappointed if they don't!). nybumpkin Posted October 17, 2008 #17 Share Posted October 17, 2008 I'm not a big fan of the Spirit-class ships. I found the lounges and activities too spread out, there was a lot a vibration/movement in the aft dining room, and I didn't like walking through the casino to get to the show lounge. Loved the aft adult-only pool, though. It won't stop me from sailing on a Spirit-class ship - we're booked on Miracle for next summer - but I greatly prefer the Conquest-class ships. jpg1747 Posted October 17, 2008 #18 Share Posted October 17, 2008 I would have said any ship that had the 1A's with windows, but now that they've been redesignated as OV's, my favorite ship is the one sailing on my preferred sailing date, to my preferred destination. fpslim Posted October 17, 2008 #19 Share Posted October 17, 2008 Since I won't see a Spirit class until Feb, I voted for the Conquest class. I have sailed on Fantasy, Destiny, Triumph and Conquest class ships. Aside from Fantasy, they are virtually the same with varying tonnage. I voted for the Conquest class because I loved the Valor! Off topic - If there was a fish and chips spot on the Legend, I missed it  :o . I don't see it listed on the deck drawings in the Carnival catalog  . If there is one on there and I missed it, I'm gonna cry!

dan40 Posted October 17, 2008 #24 Share Posted October 17, 2008 I sailed the Pride [spirit class] twice and enjoyed her as much as any other ship. I DID NOT notice that she was easy to navigate through because ALL passenger ships are EASY to get around in. If all were to expand their cruise experiences they would find that ships with a deck, or two, or three that must be worked around to get from one end to the other is common. Ships NOT like that are the uncommon ones. Not so many years ago, partial decks were universal. [ships were built with a 3 or 4 class structure]. As I posted above, if deck 3 and 4 do not allow me to go from the bow to the stern, I can use decks 1, 2, 5 or higher, without a second thought. Now, if on day 2 of the cruise it changed to decks 5 and 7 had to be worked around, and it changed again on day 3. THEN I would be whining like everybody else. I guess I was blessed with good spatial orientation and situational awareness, so I just do not understand that "navigate" complaint. When I walk out of a store I KNOW what row and space my car is in. Don't know how I know that but I do. So I guess its the same on a ship. When we get off the elevator, Barb either waits for me to lead the way or point, or she starts off in the wrong direction half the time. [or more:D] I've had cruises that were totally terrific and some that were just Great. But the difference was always the people, never the machinery. I voted, "PRESENT." Dan
lukegr Posted April 16, 2009 #25 Share Posted April 16, 2009 Never been on spirit class, so I had to choose conquest. Glad to see spirit is #1 though, because I'm sailing the Pride out of Baltimore on August 29th.
