lovetovacation Posted August 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Hi gang, I am looking at doing Bermuda on a cruise and of course there is the choice of 5 day vs. 7 day. Which do people prefer? With the 5 day, you are really only on the island 1 1/2 but for 7 days, you are there a little over 2 full days. Is that really long enough to see Bermuda? I spent 10 days there a few yrs. ago and still didnt' do everything I wanted but staying on islnad is just too expensive so I was looking at a cruise. Any thoughts? Thanks. pjsportsmom Posted August 19, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Hi Rose, I'm booked on the Norwegian dawn 7 day. 5 days is just to short for me but then again I've never been to Bermuda and I wanted to be there for the 3 days. Then any cruise I would go with the longer one if it's affordable.
bay guy Posted August 19, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 19, 2008 We've done both 5 and 7 day Bermuda cruises. 7 is better. You staill may not see everything but you'll have more time to see things at a liesurely pace.
herb Posted August 19, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2008 go for the 7 day trip. Seeing Bermuda is more important than the ship...

Rose 7 is still not enough time. We are sailing on the Dream and get about 3 days in St. George's. The longest we've been on the island was 13 days in 06. STILL NOT ENOUGH TIME. :(
*Luv2Cruz* Posted August 19, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Sounds like you may need to move there!;) We too would love more time on the island!
SanNic44 Posted August 19, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 19, 2008 Bermuda is a great place with plenty to see and do. I would stay as long as you can. Can't wait to get back.
Host Kewlguy Posted August 24, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 24, 2008 The 5-night cruises to Bermuda are a tease. I would always choose a 7 night cruise regardless of the ship.
Dolphins Posted August 25, 2008 #10 Share Posted August 25, 2008 The 7 day is easily preferable to the 5 day. However, even the 7 day is not enough as it was when we had smaller ships docking in Hamilton and St. George. Then we could spend four days in Bermuda and only one sea day going down and back. Hopefully, the Norwegian Dawn will save fuel in 2009 and spend an extra day in Bermuda. No need for that extra sea day.
lovetovacation Posted August 26, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted August 26, 2008 Thanks for all your replies. We booked a 5 night out of Baltimore for 6/09. Looking forward to it, even though we'd rather stay longer. Rose

I miss it from my last cruises!:(
