poptart Posted August 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2008 where oh where should we go? Royal Palm, sea grape? Haven't really found enough info on this board to make a decision. Yes there's a sticky but it's 2 years old. HELP!!! Carnival has an excursion to sea grape for $29 pp includes transportation, chair and drink not bad considering on your own from what I've read taxi for 2 is $5pp each way chair rental is $5 pp so we're already up to $30 and no free drink. But on our own we set our own time table. :D Is there parasailing there? Unbrella and/or floating mats to rent? what do ya think? Never been to the beach at GC but we've been there several times and feel like we've sight seen and shopped all we care to and a a relaxing day at the beach is all we want. So please tell me about where you've actually been, what you thought about it or even post a picture. Thanks!!!
jean-lynd Posted August 25, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2008 I have not been to Sea Grape but I can give you all of the info on Reef Grill. They do have parasailing for $70. Umbrellas are $10. Floating Mats $5. Their menu is posted on their website along with a webcam so you can see exactly what the beach is like and what they have to eat http://www.reefgrill.com. Our daughter got married on their beach so obviously we thought it was the best on the island. I would post a picture but I'm not sure how to do that. Sounds like you can go to the Reef Grill, rent chairs, and have lunch for less then the excursion will cost - and - you can decide how much time you want to spend there. I hope this helps! Enjoy! poptart Posted August 25, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted August 25, 2008 thank you Jean-lynd. I think this sounds like the perfect spot for us. one more question--dh & I don't want to go (been there, done that) but our cruise buds would like to see the turtle farm. Do you know how near or far it is from the reef grill? I'm thinking we'll head on to the beach and they can meet up with us later.
jean-lynd Posted August 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2008 The Turtle Farm is about 5 miles north of the Reef Grill.
poptart Posted August 25, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted August 25, 2008 That should work out fine then. We may even be able to start out in the same taxi, drop us off and then they can go on to see the turtles and return later. For my money, once you've seen the turtle farm--you've been there done that! Now IF they wanted to swim with the sting rays I'd do that again. But they don't. Thanks for all the info.
