cmarrero1014 Posted September 24, 2008 #26 Share Posted September 24, 2008 I too use the sticker method. I have a roll of purple Heinken stickers leftover from my bartending days in college. If you see red bags covered with purple circles that contain green beer bottles, that's my bag!

I have never seen it in that color -- hubby collects Heine's whatevers... green - loves the beer and everything about it -- I have been buying stuff from EBAY for him - hmmmmmmm - maybe we use the Heine vinyl flags on our luggages!! thanx for the idea! kodiaknurse Posted October 1, 2008 #28 Share Posted October 1, 2008 My solution has been Team Canada Hockey Tape - I fold it onto itself lenghtwise, then cut it in half lengthwise to make 2 long strips - I tie them onto each handle - I can always tell which bags are mine - and since doing this - I have not had anyone pick up my bags by mistake. The Hockey Tape is durable - I have traveled approx 10 trips and not replaced it, I have taken it off worn out luggage and used it on the new stuff - lol! Azure Moon Posted October 11, 2008 #29 Share Posted October 11, 2008 I've used three things - rolled ribbon, fabric, and Beacon Adhesives brand FABRI-TAC Permanent Adhesive glue. The first, which is easiest, is using fabric glue to glue on cut-to-fit strips of wide, rolled ribbon I purchased in the WalMart craft/fabric area. I bought several rolls of one pattern so all of our luggage would match. It worked out wonderfully because we can see our luggage no matter which side is turned our way (I glued a strip of ribbon on top, bottom, sides, front, and back). When I added a new suitcase, carry on, and camera bag, I didn't have anymore of the rolled ribbon so all the pieces would match. But I did find fabric that had the same colors and a pattern almost identical to the original ribbon. It was a bit more work using the fabric because it required more cutting to make strips and I sewed each each to reduce fraying. Turned out great, though. It's held up through many trips. I do need to get the fabric glue to do a few touch ups where the ribbon and fabric have come up from all the handling they've received at the airports and ships/ports, but I've been really impressed with the durability. I LOVE that all of our black luggage stands out from all the others, plus it looks great. In all of our trips, I haven't seen anyone's luggage have the same pattern.
HulaGirl@Heart Posted October 12, 2008 #30 Share Posted October 12, 2008 I make my own tags, have them laminated and tie them on with bright ribbon. My son though, takes a more "manly" approach. He takes neon color duct tape and marks his luggage with a huge "X" on one side.
Captain Canuck Posted October 12, 2008 #31 Share Posted October 12, 2008 many many years ago we got married in Hawaii. Since I worked at an airport my "friends" go to my luggage after we checked in. When we got off the plane in hawaii it was covered in gay porn. made it really easy to spot. Both our parents flew out with us to be at the wedding. I thought my mother was going to pee herself laughing. ...although it was easy to find I do not recommend this.

Cruise Dragon Posted October 16, 2008 #35 Share Posted October 16, 2008 My wife and volunteer for a Convention that people from all over the world volunteer for, The Techie people have a color code so if you lose tools they can find their way home, so our luggage have purple, red, purple electrical tape on all the handles. Ok...I try realllly hard to buy off color or designed luggage (my luggage now is polka dot!!!) BUT just to get some ideas, what are some of the things you have done to decorate your bags to make them easier to spot at the airport or when picking them up at the cruise terminal? I know you guys will be able to give me some good ones!! ;)

cruzisme Posted October 18, 2008 #37 Share Posted October 18, 2008 thanks to this thread, I went to the local $$ Store and bought a large mesh spongy thing for my suitcase. Will get another one for DH that isn't bright pink (the only colour they had that day) up where I live, it is hard to buy one of those Organizer over the door things. Finally got one at the local thrift store; worked great on our last cruise for this cruise coming up, we will leave it (the over/door thing) at home (flying weight thing) but I never thought I would love it as much as I do. cruisin' cate Posted October 22, 2008 #38 Share Posted October 22, 2008 We've used this plastic tape stuff we use on the farm. Neon orange tied in a big bow on the luggage handle. Last time I went to Hobby Lobby and bought colored bandanas and tied them to the handles. Worked great!
