prc Posted October 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 25, 2004 The newspaper in the link was Springfield, Oregon. Not really close to the Great Lakes.
Joe Beach Posted October 25, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 25, 2004 it took a couple of clicks to figure out it is Springfield OR, just outside Eugene. Good question though, since there are 28 states that have a Springfield. Wonder how this is going down in Wichita, where the call center was established a few years ago. I have to tell you talking to midwest people at the center seemed to be more congenial than Miami's call people. Does anybody know why they are moving again so soon? I thought the KS location was successful. What's the story?
isujim Posted October 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Are you sure they would move out of Wichita?? They may be going to regional call centers...........it makes some sense........not sure they will close Wichita but haven't heard anything one way or the other. enyaw Posted October 25, 2004 #8 Share Posted October 25, 2004 Hi there everyone. According to recent news reports here in Eugene (I should know--I'm on the news) Royal Caribbean is building ANOTHER call center. They're not closing the one in Kansas. We're very excited about this possibility in the Northwest--since our economy here isn't the greatest. I'll be happy to answer to any other questions---but remember at this time---it's all speculation. Nothing is final, yet!
