Cash (you have to use your sea pass for everything)

Lisae74 Posted August 27, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2008 1) The Scottish weather (i.e. RAIN) 2) Work - I don't want ANYTHING at all to remind me of work 3) Worries and stress - I'm on board to chill out and recharge my batteries 4) Stiletto heels and wedge heels - look great but take up too much room in the suitcase! I always pack flip flops for by the pool, trainers for walking onshore (and for the flight to/from the ship) and flat pumps for night time onboard 5) Diets - on holiday, will eat what I damn well want! blond_wf_duhhh Posted October 6, 2008 #20 Share Posted October 6, 2008 After EXTREMEMLY being OVER prepared for my first ever cruise (which happened to be a 7-night Alaskan cruise), I have learned that the 5 things that I could personally do without on my next cruise include (in no particular order)… 1. At least 2-different complete outfit changes each day. 2. Any thoughts of previous worries prior to boarding the ship (work/home/bills, etc.) 3. An excessive amount of batteries for my digital camera (why didn’t I find out about lithium batteries sooner??? Silly me). I’m surprised TSA let me through with that many. 4. 3 full boxes (80 ct. each) of assorted sized Band-Aids. (Granted both my husband and I are accident prone, but we never did need them and the room stewardess was happy to take them off of our hands at the end of the cruise.) 5. BINGO announcments!!!

MissMet Posted October 16, 2008 #22 Share Posted October 16, 2008 With all the new checked bag rules they have now & all the charges for overweight & additional bags... 1. I Never bring a pop hamper it's a waist of space, plus it's double the work, you fill it up, to then dump it out, to then pack it & all your dirty clothes, which will now be loose in you suitcase. Mesh laundry bags are good, but they're almost always netting, so that's smelly. Just bring a garbage bag, fill it & then when it's time to pack tie it & throw it in the suitcase. 2. I Never bring clothes pins, just pull the retractible clothes line out from the wall as usual, but string it through the arm/leg holes of your garments before attaching it to the wall & presto! 3. I Never bring travel speakers. Just buy a much lighter & cheaper ($4.99) RCA cable. It connects your mp3 player to your tv. Speakers just take too much room & if you're worried about the light from the tv, you can put it on the ship cam channel...very romantic, especially if you are in an inside room. ;) Also, if you have a video mp3 player or if you upload photos to your mp3 player you can view them as well.
