Norwegian Dawn Return to NYC

Question for all my CC associates.

 

I was returning to Brooklyn this afternoon and driving over the Verazzano Narrows Bridge at approximately 445PM and spotted the Norwegian Dawn cruising into New York Harbor. I have never seen a cruise ship entering New York Harbor at 5PM in the afternoon! Normally the ships are backing away from the piers at that time to begin a cruise. So, does anyone know what is the reason for the Dawn's 5PM arrival? Was it part of a scheduled cruise or was there a problem?

the dawn had a passenger witha medical emergency and in addition rough seas --It docked around 530pm and should depart at around 11 pm with many cranky passengers I am sure

I was on the Dawn coming in to NY- Trust me, lots of cranky passengers ON the ship too--- Anyone know when they actually went out last night?? I know we got off at 7:15- as you know, they tell you to stay in your stateroom until your "color" is called to disembark. We did that, and had the cleaning people pounding on the door every few minutes until I lost my temper, that is!!

i understand the dawn left after 11pm --around 11 30

Ugly!! I know some folks like to arrive at 11 AM to embark-- What a wait! I heard they gave an allowance of twenty dollars each for dinner-- anyone know if that is true?
