realtordebbie Posted August 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Flying into EWR. Looking to stay around airport. Anyone stayed in this area? Good or bad info appreciated. Anyone parked at cruise terminal at Cape Liberty/Bayonne?
138east Posted August 31, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Most of the airport hotels are clean, serviceable hotels run by national chains that provide a decent room for overnight travelers. What are your considerations in picking a hotel? Price? Hotel chain? Convenience to NY? Convenience to Bayonne? Lots of folks have parked at Cape Liberty, including myself. $16/day. A lot of parking close to the terminal and shuttle buses if you are further away. The general level of satisfaction is very high. After you drop off at the terminal, the parking entrance is just beyond. When you come back, it is possible to get your luggage to the car without driving through the drop off/pick up again, which means you can get out of there quickly. megr1125 Posted August 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Click the link below to my blog about the area... i generally choose something at exit 13A by Ikea/Jersey Gardens mall such as the Courtyard or Residence Inn by Marriott, or Country Inn. All have airport transportation if needed...Cab fare is about 50 bucks to the port, maybe less. those are, IMO better since there is the mall, a diner and a ruby tuesday nearby. Also, there is a Full service marriott, a renaissance another courtyard and springhill suites, but those are a little harder to get to...traffic on routes 1 & 9 can be tricky.,... http://mojitomegcapeliberty.blogspot.com/ let me know if you have other questions.:)

cavkc Posted September 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 2, 2008 We have booked to stay at the Courtyard Newark Elizabeth. They are located adjacent to Jersey Gardens Outlets (that's not why I booked it honest :D ). I did though figure that at least we will have somewhere to go when we have a few hours to kill. They also have a shuttle to the airport

stlrboo Posted September 5, 2008 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2008 We stayed at the Sheraton Newark Airport this past April... Rates around $150.:p Real nice hotel, dining is available 'in-house' and they have a FREE 24/7 airport shuttle.. Cab fare was around $40.00 to the port, tho' we had a limo (6 of us, and a bunch of luggage) for $55.00!:D Nice quiet area, close to main highways... Would definitely stay there again..:)
