smudge's mom Posted April 5, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 5, 2004 For DH's co-worker's 50th birtday last year, we were supposed to bring a gag gift of 50 of something - I bought three packages of Peeps. She didn't know what they were. How is that possible?
brigittetom Posted April 5, 2004 #13 Share Posted April 5, 2004 I used to eat them by the package years ago. I don't have the heart to tell my daughter that I've out grown them so they keep showing up every Easter. Don't have the heart to throw them out either. I should throw a giant peep roast for the neighborhood. brigittetom Posted April 5, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 5, 2004 Nealberk. I started getting them for Christmas and Halloween also. Last Halloween I tried giving the boxes away thinking the little kids would be impressed just by the size. They didn't want anypart of them. They wanted the mini candy bars and they didn't even know the peeps were a year old. I remember (many years ago!) when I was still single and picked up 25 pounds of the stupid things from one of the bulk food places. A few days later I got walking pneumonia and was totally grounded to my apartment. If it wasn't for those ready to eat chocolate bunnies (no cooking, no defrosting, high energy source) I might have wasted away. The few remaining after I returned to the living, I gave away to the neighbor kids.
NitaBcruising Posted April 6, 2004 #23 Share Posted April 6, 2004 I love Peeps! I still eat a few packages of them every Easter, correction, every holiday! I've had a few so far already. And my daughter buys them for me, too! Darn, I was going to try to give up sugar, again. Maybe after Easter and Peeps! Nita
