bmacri Posted August 31, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Does anyone have a picture of an OV with one bed that folds down from the wall? I was told that most OV's have the pull-down bed instead of the couch. How do you get up there? Do you have to crawl over the bed underneath it to get into it? Any pictures would be great. We are sailing on the Spirit in Feb. 09.

bmacri Posted August 31, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Oh my goodness! Thank you for the picture. That upper bed looks tiny. We are all BIG adults. I wonder if there is a weight limit on those beds? How do they stay put? I'm the smallest and I'm a 60 year old bigger person. Is this going to work? bmacri Posted August 31, 2008 Author #6 Share Posted August 31, 2008 Now I'm hoping for a sofa instead of the pull-out bed. We have an OV Guarantee. I guess it's just the luck of the draw? Do you think it would help if I called and said I'd rather have a sofa than a pull out? Any advice?

I dont know if they will do anything, but i would call and let them know if would be a *hardship* for an older bigger person to climb the ladder and get in the bunk... Good Luck!!!and enjoy your cruise!
cowmaniac Posted August 31, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2008 we had an ocean view with 3 people on the glory and we had 2 twins(or king) and the couch bed. looking at the room descriptions it looks like the only time the ocean view rooms on the spirit have pull-downs is if it is for 4 people and it has a couch bed and pull-down. so if they gave you one of those you would be able to use the couch rather than the pull-down. hope this helps. cruiseapril Posted August 31, 2008 #9 Share Posted August 31, 2008 We had an Oceanview with a bunk on the Elation. You would be much more comfortable in a sofa bed- Carnival should be able to help once they know what your needs are.
