The Sewage Smell - can it be avoided?

Ive read a quite a few posts on CC (in preparation for my upcoming December cruise on the Sensation) and it seems that some people have reported the "smell" while others have not. Ive read contradicting things about it though......some say it's only noticable when the ship is not in motion, some say its only on the Rivera deck, some say its only at the front (or back) of the ship. I plan to pack a glad plug-in regardless, but if anyone can offer some tips on avoiding the smell, please share. Thanks :)

I have also read to cover your bathroom toilet brush with a baggie to prevent that smell also at times. I think though that all ships can get this not just the Sensation. The worst I ever had though was on the Sovereign of the Seas a few years back. It was horrible and my glade plug in did not help the situation.
