BaumD Posted April 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Just received an Email from RCCL about my experiences with Meet & Mingles. They wanted to know how many I had signed up for, how many attended, how many missed, how important they were regarding my decision to cruise on RCCL. They also wanted to know how often I visit the RCCL and CC websites plus some general info about my cruise history.

erniesband Posted April 13, 2004 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Me too. Looks like they may be thinking it's not worth it for them to hold these events when too many people sign up but don't show up. Tybug Posted April 13, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I also received one. I feel the purpose for the survey is people not attending the M&M. So many people tend to sign up but not attend. I wonder how long it will be until they stop the M&M altogether. --Tybug-- 10-01 Imagination 02-02 Sovereign of the Seas 10-02 Inspiration 01-03 Majesty of the Seas 04-03 Inspiration 10-03 NCL Dawn 02-04 Rhapsody of the Seas 05-04 Majesty of the Seas 10-04 Mariner of the Seas

BLUEICE Posted April 13, 2004 #14 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I got the survey as well and also completed it. I was thinking the whole time that this will be the next thing cancelled or another surcharge to pay. I also mentioned that most people do not get their invitations or find them in their cabins after the function has been held. Hopefully it will not take long in finding the results of this survey. I hope they do not take the meet and mingle away. bpear1600 Posted April 13, 2004 #16 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I appreciate RCI putting on the M & M but they can do away with it as far as I'm concerned. A bunch of short speeches to a bunch of folks glued to their seats does nothing for me. Why not some games or contests to force people to interact? We met who we wanted to meet but it would have been nice to have more structure to the event. RCI, we thank you for the gifts but I'm sure most of us have a house full of this stuff by now. cuppy Posted April 13, 2004 #17 Share Posted April 13, 2004 Got mine today. Already completed and sent it back I too agree that they should play some games or something. Ice breakers - I suggested "cruise critic trivia" or just cruise trivia. Also it asked us about meeting cruise staff and learning updates - we didn't have any of that during the M&M I went to. I had met several cruise critic members ahead of time so we had already started talking days before. But only 1/2 the people who signed up came. I for one never got an invite - but I had gotten the e-mail prior to cruising. Hope they don't stop them, I like meeting people. As for the food, what they gave us wasn't eaten at all, it was crackers with cavier I think. I think people would be happy with cookies, or cheese & veggies. I don't think people need anything fancy for this, they just want to meet people. ryjack Posted April 13, 2004 #18 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I just completed my survey. I think they (RCCI) is going to start a surcharge for the M&M. But look at the good part of the surcharge. It may only be $ 5.00 or so.. kammer Posted April 13, 2004 #19 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I got one too. I haven't sailed yet. I went to try and reply and a note popped up that said they already had received their quota from my demographical area. Oh well. We only have 34 people signed up for our M&M. I hope everyone will show up. There's only a few of us chatting back and forth on the message boards. Karen
Linkslady Posted April 13, 2004 #20 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I completed my survey and sent it back! People can organize their own M & M if RCL stops organizing them. While it was okay to meet the CD, our group on the Rhapsody last October already had a "feel" for each other and we kept our party alive... I do agree that RCL could offer some ice-breakers.. hardingk Posted April 13, 2004 #21 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I got it also and filled it out. I mentioned how some people are not notified in time and how they should hold them on sea days or in the eveing, not in the middle of the day while in port. I think that if they were to start charging no one would go. On our last CC M&M party, all they had was cookies. Why would I pay $5 or anything for something that I could get for free else where on the ship???!! I feel they did the survey to get a concensus on how everyone views them & what they get out of them...meaning, are they really worth while? ___________________________ RCL~Navigator 8/2003, Majesty 7/2003, Radiance 4/2003, Monarch 8/2002, Nordic Empress 8/2001 Celebrity~Century 7/2001 & 7/1998, Horizon 7/1991 Future Cruises: Legend of the Seas 5/7/2004 Enchantment of the Seas 8/30/2004 Brilliance of the Seas 1/14/2005 Till Hawaii on the Legend of the Seas! Folgy Posted April 13, 2004 #23 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I filled out mine . Giving cudos for the Grandeur M&M we had in January. I sure can see also lack of CCers not showing up would be a downer. My Alaskan Cruise on the Serenade for August 8th sailing has been dismal for CCers joing the M&M. garnetjanet Posted April 13, 2004 #25 Share Posted April 13, 2004 I filled mine out, too. I suggested they have the invites in the cabins at the start of the cruise so people can plan for them (could have the M&M the same prearranged time for each cruise). Also, they would get a better turnout if they made sure people received their invites!
