Desiree D Posted September 10, 2008 #26 Share Posted September 10, 2008 Made this on Sunday, my crock pot fit 3 mugs, the rest of the batter went into muffin tins and into the oven. Covered the crock pot bottom with water, cooked on low for 5 hours. Served with Icecream. It was very rich, couldn't eat all of one serving. Reheated in microwave second night, served with icecream and thought it was even better the second time around, not sure why. Didn't make us sick. Not sure how often I will want to do this, seemed more like a very thick fudge sauce, than anything else. Only had the real thing 12 years ago, and wasn't very impressed. Will have to try it again on the Conquest in Nov. I'm SO ready, can't get here soon enough for me!!!!!
sullaRaffaello Posted September 10, 2008 #27 Share Posted September 10, 2008 I swear this tasted just like Chocolate Melting Cake. What exactly is Chocolate Melting Cake? I take it you've had it on a ship. What ship?

Desiree D Posted September 10, 2008 #29 Share Posted September 10, 2008 Can't say what this is, but had it once on the Carnvial Fascination. Will try it again on the Carnival Conquest. Is it choc cake with a liquid center?
bakechef Posted September 11, 2008 #30 Share Posted September 11, 2008 This can't be healthy. Brownie mixes typically contain 3 eggs and if the end product is just hot half cooked batter, doesn't sound like a good idea. Bacteria will die around 150 degrees, cake doesn't full set and bake until around 200 degrees, this method should be fine and safe! I have the melting cake recipe from carnival, it is very similar to a rich brownie recipe, lots of eggs, chocolate and butter, with very little flour.
