Its not 100% private but Wellington Rover uses 7 seat vans for a 2 1/2 hour tour and goes 3 times a day from the Wellington isite downtown. www.wellingtonrover.co.nz We used it last november and we hit the highlights in town and on the south coast. Check it out.

We used Wellington Rover but not the LOTR tour. Quite satisfied.

How do we get from the Cruise Pier to the Pick up site. It sound like a Hop On, Hop Off Bus, Is it similar. Ed

Wellington Rover is picking us up at the dock. We booked the 1/2 day Lord of the Rings tour.
