Ship time vs. "local time"

I'm sailing out of Florida.

 

Will I be on "local time" when I arrive in Grand Cayman?

It depends. When is your trip? We need to know if it is while Florida is observing Daylight Savings Time or not.

Ooooh, right... yes, daylight savings time. We'll be cruising in July 2009

Okay then when you are there it will be an hour earlier in Grand Cayman then on the ship. As an example if it is 11:00 on the ship it will be 10:00 in Grand Cayman.

Same question here, we sail in dec, 08. Will the ship time be the same as GC time?

It depends on the time zone of your departure port and if you ship stays on that time zone or if they change to local time. Every ship I have been on stayed on the departure port time.

The short answer is...it depends. For Carnival Cruise Lines, it varies, as it's up to each ship's captain and crew to decide whether to follow local time, or stay on the departure port's time. I've experienced both situations.
