so my fiance and I will be celebrating our honeymoon on the Carnival Pride Sept. 28th Mexican Riviera cruise. What should I expect out of my room and balcony rm#8269. Size...what it has...how big is the balcony? I seem to be to undereducated about how to read or decipher the room codes and such on Carnivals site. Thanks for any help.

Your room is located on the starboard side at the back of the ship. We have sailed on the Spirit class ships twice before and are going again Dec 6, 8 day mex riv. The balcony will be large enough for 2 chairs and a small table. If you want a chaise ask your cabin steward the first day. The room will be fine for 2 people. We have had extended balcony and the last one and the next are in a suite. We are a family of 4 and need room as well as the time we spend on the balcony. Enjoy your cruise and honeymoon !;)

3 balconies in a row, but you can see the pattern in the floor separating out what would be a single.

Take an old gift card for the safe, place your valuables and then swipe to lock, you will need the same card to re-open. Agree on a hiding spot like "in the tan socks" thay way you both can have access. I'd take an extension cord, outlets are rare.

I have cruise the Pride twice... it's a fantastic ship!

The Balcony is 9 feet long by 4 feet deep (looks like the balcony dividers have been opened in the photo provided above).

The room is plenty large with a lot of closet and drawer space, so that will not be an issue. Store your suitcases under the bed.

There is a small table to sit at too, but mostly just placed our stuff on it.

Other info:

Folks TIP the Porters $1 a bag.

All your TIP's are automaticall included and added on your sail and sign card, so you need not TIP anyone.

Cocktail and Bar servers automatically add a 15% TIP to each of your purchases, so you do not need to TIP them either.

People TIP room service $1 - $2 when service is rendored.

The only place that takes cash is the Casino and the Purser's desk.

Drinks are about $5.25 each plus TIP... so plan on $6 each.

You can each bring a bottle of wine onboard. Booze is not allowed, so people place it in their checked luggage to sneak it on.

It's easiest to bring small bills to purchase in Mexico, and for CAB's, TIPping, etc. I bring the following on my cruises:

50 - $1's

50 - $5's

20 - $10's

Have a great cruise and Honermoon...! :)

Some other amenities you'll find in the cabin are fluffy bathrobes to use, a basket or bowl of sample size items like shampoo, conditioner, razors, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, Tums, Rolaids, Skittles, comb, etc. The items vary w/each cruise, and if you need more of something, ask the cabin steward.

The bathroom shower has two dispensers; one holds body wash and the other a shampoo/conditioner combo. Plenty of towels are provided, and big blue ones for taking ashore. You can get towels for use at the pool on Lido Deck.

Happy honeymooning to y'all!:) And remember, no romantic candles allowed!

Happy Honeymoon! I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip. :) Once you get to the port where your boarding make sure the Carnival folks know your on your honeymoon! :D You just never know, you may get a couple of extra perks........I've seen no waiting in line (they put you in the VIP area), bottle of wine at dinner table and a few other things given to those who are 'mooning. Just depends on the staff. And order the decorations for your cabin they are great and you can take them home. On your 1st anniversary take them out decorate and you can act like it's your Honeymoon all over again! Most of all Best Wishes and may you have a long and happy life together!

Happy Honeymoon!

My hubby & I just got off the Pride on Sunday and we were in a starboard aft balcony on the Empress deck (Deck 6) and were very pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and balcony. We had an abundance of closet & drawer space, plenty of room for our toiletries, and lots of space to spread out. We brought an old gift card (thanks for letting us know we'd need this Cruise Critics!) to lock/unlock our safe, never had Mr. Wee, our steward, unlock the bar, and had a great time. Oh, we plugged the electric razor into the outlet in the bathroom and the cellphone into the outlet on the vanity....never used the power strip we'd brought "just in case".

Enjoy your cruise!!

Cotton is right about the candles. We took some "mood lighting" on a cruise a few years ago. Our cabin steward reported that we had them, so security contacted us to remove them from our cabin. They did return them to us upon disembarkation. We didn't consider a fire risk, and we very embarrassed.

As for the cabin, everyone is right. Plenty of storage space, 40sq. ft. balcony, mini fridge, robes, samples in the bathroom, but only one plug in (be sure to take an extension cord).

You now can by the battery operated "candles" with airfreshner for mood lightening.

No Irons. There are available in the laundry room. Downy wrinkle release works great though.

Irons are explicitly NOT ALLOWED by the cruiselines. Neither are candles.

However, they have iron in the laundry room you can use for free.

A common way to handle wrinkles on a cruise is to just use Downy Wrinkle-Free when hanging up their clothes, and any wrinkles are gone by the time you use the clothes.

Other do the same, but hang their clothes in the shower and turn the shower on hot, and let the steam do the work.

Best of luck. :)
