Response on Labadee for July Voyager

My final payment is due on May 1st for the July 16th Voyager.

C&A desk indicated it would not be until 40 or so days before sailing that the cruise line would be making a final determination on Labadee or a substitute port.

For me that is after final payment and I am in penalty mode.

She did say that if Labadee is cancelled another port would be substitued and it would not be another sea day. (Gotta say, she sounded like she she knew what she was talking about)

So...there you have it for the moment, FWIW.

Well..I'm guessing that the next round of updated itineraries will be coming in a couple of weeks. If they include the 5/21 9 Day in the next updates then I would assume that most likely whatever itinerary exists for the 5/21 9 Day will hold true for the remaining 9 Day cruises...at least I would think......so you might be able to get more info before your final payment date.

We are on the NOS 5/1. Talked to RCI yesterday and they said it would be another week before they made a decision on Labadee for our cruise. So, we are still up in the air as to weather it will be Labadee, Nassau, Freeport or Coco Cay. Wow! They are really pushing it close to the sail date to make a final decision. I am on the 05/15 Navigator of the Seas and I am also waiting to hear what port we will be going to. It is hard to book a tour if you don't know where you are going. I prefer Coco Cay or Freeport since I have been to Nassau 3 times already.

Does anyone know how things stand in Labadee right now? I have not seen much on the news or read much either.

We sailed Voyager 3/28 - 4/4. Upon arrival at the cruise terminal, they informed us that we would be stopping at Cocoa Cay on Monday, in place of Labadee, originally scheduled for Tuesday. Cocoa Cay was just as nice as Labadee & we had a great time there. It was the first time in 2 1/2 years that Voyager stopped there. Given the Haiti situation, I'm sure RCCL is just taking it week by week.

Cococay is cute, but am concerned about its size for a voyager-class ship. I visited CocoCay on the Majesty of the Seas, and it was a little bit crowded then.

Maybe this will be a "stay on the ship" day for me, if Cococay replaces Labadee.

yes, if things are (safe)!!!!!????!!!!! we will sail to Labadee. )Or I was told it would be coco cay. We are sailing on july 30th, you were very lucky to get that date.

I spoke with the customer service rep at RC corporate office regarding August Voyager cruise and Labadee. He could not guarantee it would not be another sea day. He said it was too early to make a decision and that another substitute port was possible but no info was available.

We're on the Mariner in September and the RCI website has now update our itinerary to show Coco Cay instead of Labadee.

aqusis - Interesting! I looked up our July (and the September cruises)cruise and the initial page before you punch in the exact dates of your cruise, do have a change of Coco Cay. However, when you go to your actual cruise dates, the itinerary still says Labadee.

hi all,
my son in law's brother (they are both marines stationed at camp lejune) just returned from haita (sp) for the birth of his first son. he told me not to expect to be going to labadee in september on the mariner! the place is in a mess! he really could not give any specificates on labadee, but he did say he would not even think of haitia as a vacation spot for a long time!!!
