Last voyage before a drydock

We were on Majesty's last cruise before dry dock in January 2007. There was little difference. Some guys in suits came aboard and did a lot of measuring and taking pictures. And that didn't bother anyone.

I'm shore it varies from ship to ship, depending on what they really have to do in dry dock and how much time they have.

I've seen more discussion on the other end of the dry docking. The first cruise after a dry docking, or a maiden voyage, will sometimes still have work being done, and things some times not quite in working order. I'd worry more about that side of the dry docking.

Has anyone ever been on the cruise right before a ship is drydocked?

We were on Mariner the week before its dry dock. You would not have known, since nothing was done any different that usual. Everything was open as normal, and we did not see any signs of them starting work early.
