Sabiney Posted September 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted September 24, 2008 OK, for those wanting to know if it is as bad as some of the reviews, the answer is NO. It was actually rather nice. We had a one night stay precruise. Received a good deal via priceline. No sign of mold or bugs as some reviews stated. The grounds were lovely, secure and private. Our room was clean & comfortable and the staff was very nice. They actually sent up a bottle of Champagne and sweets after finding out that we were celebrating our anniversary. What a surprise!:D No, it's not South Beach or Bayside, but it was perfect for us. It allowed us a chance to shift gears before boarding the ship without the hustle & bustle of the more tourist laden spots. Boy did we need that after dealing with the likes of Ike! No, it's not new and flashy. More of a cottage feel w/balcony rooms overlooking courtyards and golf courses. We did not dine there so no comment on the food, but cocktails were expensive & STOUT. Do check your bill when you check out since they automatically add a $16.00 fee for unlimited internet access. Simply let them know that you did not use it and they will remove the charge. Enjoy your stay!

BlueHerons Posted September 24, 2008 #3 Share Posted September 24, 2008 No, it's not Bayside, Thank God. I can't believe The Doral gets bad reviews and can't believe anyone actually believes Trip Advisor. It is full of disgruntled employees. Anyone in the hotel business or the travel business thinks trip advisor is a joke.
