Update from Best Western

According to customer service for Best Western Hotels, the BW on Seawall had several feet of water in the parking garage. It is currently closed until Oct. 15. Can anyone from the Galveston area comment on the condition of BW? If it is true that only the parking garage flooded (I seem to remember there were no rooms on the ground floor), then we should be OK with Jan. 10 reservations. I will call again Oct. 16 to verify.

I live near there and they got close to 2-3 feet if they got what other areas got. They had stuff out in the parking lot that they were demolishing today, but it wasn't really too much. I think you should be ok with January reservations.

That's good to know because we have reservations for the 8th and 9th of January. Right now I am assuming that Carnival will be using Galveston for the Ecstacy in January.

could you post if you hear anything? I called last week and bestwestern corporate told me they would be open on the 22nd of september. we are also booked there for the 9th and 10th of january and could use any help as to what is going on there thanks! :)
