Sailing around South America

We are currently in a port side cabin going from Santiago to Rio and are thinking of an upgrade. The only upgrade available is on the starboard side. I know many have said it is much better to be on the port side, but has anyone done this from the starboard side and not felt 'left out'? WE are looking at the maps from the cruise line and while it is hard to say exactly, it appears that some places you will be seing thigs from both sides, but... any info would be appreciated. thanks

I don't remember ever reading that port side is better on this route. There's plenty to see from both sides, when there's anything at all to see.

I've done this cruise (with Antarctica) from Rio to Santiago twice. Sometimes the better view is to port, sometimes to starboard. And sometimes it's so all around you that the senses are on overload!

Pick the cabin for location and amenities that matter to you.

And have a wonderful time!
