Nassau 1PM - 8PM what to do?

December: Adults and Kids... would have loved to have booked Atlantis for the waterpark, aquarium etc. (kids would go nuts) but might not be worth it depending on the hours of operation.

Also our ship is showing no excursions because of the late in the day arrival...

Is there a charge to visit the grounds and Aquarium??

Yes, $35 for adults, $23 for kids. And you are limited in where you can go on the grounds. You' won't be able to visit the waterpark.. or use the beach area.

I'm surprised there are not offerings from the ship. there are usually at least a few tours that are tailored to arrival and departure times.

what ship are you on??

We are on the Freedom arriving at 1pm and departing at 8pm... just off the phone with Carnival and nope... no excursions! lol

Going to call Atlantis in the am and see what the hours of operation are - not sure what we will be able to fit in and if it will be worth it.

In the winter months.. Pools open at 9am / slides open at 10am / Slides start closing at 4:30 pm and chairs are stacked at 5pm at the pools and beach.

Sunset is about 5:18 in early december.

Aquarium is open til the late hours of the nite. But you have to pay admission during the daytime hours if you don't have a aquapark day pass. $35 / $23 before 7pm. After 7 it's free to roam through, but no more tours for the day

We booked the Oasis for 2010 and they are there the same hours 1 to 8. So I also wonder what to do. I don't want to miss the beach so guess we will just go to Cable beach. Darn I would enjoy Atlantis but not if we couldn't use the pools I get to Sea World often so visiting the aquarium isn't that important to me.

Catch a bus to cable beach for just a few dollars or a cab, whichever is the better deal $$ wise. Day passes at the Wyndham used to be 15 but I hear they are 40 now. Spend a few hours on a clean private beach, great pool for the kids then head back There's a casino and the beach is beautiful. Head back early in case there's traffic (there wasn't when I went and the cab driver gave us a great tour of the area). Leave some extra time to hit the straw market for knick knacks, but keep your purse closed and your wallet closer. I wouldn't even recommend carrying your purse if you don't have to. When we were there there was a wallet stolen, oh and the market is dark and hot (and there were rats). But, I bought some cool Bahamian wares and got a great deal on some fake bags that were really nice.
