MERLOTCHAMPAGNE Posted October 6, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2008 Friends of ours are interested in the Galaxy for Jan 2009. I know that Galaxy was supposed to be in drydock April 2008. Did this occur and how is the ship now? Are the windows in Stratesphere no longer cloudy? Overall, how is the Galaxy? Our friends are trying to entice her parents who haven't cruised in many years due a negative experience, to join them. So how about the pros and cons of Galaxy???? As always, Cruise Critic is the place to find the "real" answers.:D Thanks!
nps001 Posted October 6, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2008 I would sail on Galaxy without a hesitation. My experience was just prior to the dry dock. The service was some of the best I have experienced in cruising. I took a lot of pictures from my cruise aboard the Galaxy. Many are of the art and public areas. You can click on the link below if you want to take a look. Happy cruising.
Rare Lois R Posted October 6, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2008 I was on Galaxy back in March too:) (Hi Joe) The ship is leaving the fleet in March 2009 and I am sailing her again in January before she goes:( I had a fantastic time:D ~celebrated my 50th birthday and can't wait to step back on her again. I think part of the windows were clear and part not...but it didn't have a bearing on my cruise. If your friends's folks want brand new with all the bells and whistles you might want to look at an M class or one of the newest ships that haven't come into service yet. (Solstice, Equinox). I love the C-class ships but I am probably in the minority around here on that one.
charlemj Posted October 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2008 I have the same question as Merlotchamapagne, it would be great to hear from any one who has sailed the Galaxy since the ronovation and could give us their opinion on the cabins and public spaces. Thanks much, Charles
