Delta Dear Posted October 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2008 My husband uses a C-Pap machine so I have already packed an extension cord as suggested. Are the electrical outlets standard, or do I need adapters on the Sovereign of the Sea ?
bilyclub Posted October 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2008 There will only be one or two outlets by the dresser in a standard cabin. Yes they are regular ones.
Sue L Posted October 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2008 You might want to bring a power strip if you have a few things to plug in.
Seaerik Posted October 9, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 9, 2008 Make sure you bring an extension cord, as the only outlets are not near the bed.
IMNiles Posted October 9, 2008 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2008 There will be both standard US outlets as well as Euro (two prong) outlets. As the others have said, they are typically at the vanity and nowhere near the bed so you will want an extension cord. I don't recall them being three-prong, so you'd want a two-prong extension. I often bring Euro adapters anyway so I can use both sets of plugs. Note that on many ships the plugs are "recessed" so large "wall warts" may not plug into them - I bring a few of those "grounding adapters" (the little plastic two-to-three prong adapters you can buy at the grocery store or hardware store) because they are just the right size to bring the plug flush with the wall. A power strip or extension cord also comes in handy in this case. I had a friend on a previous cruise with a c-pap, and the line actually provided an extension for them, so this may be possible in a pinch as well. cb at sea Posted October 9, 2008 #6 Share Posted October 9, 2008 Your extension cord will be fine--just make sure it's rated the same as the cord on the c-pap machine!
