tortigabby Posted October 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2008 What can someone tell me about the "Sanctuary" aboard the Emerald Princess I'm interested in knowing if the $$$ are worth reserving a space for sea days OR the entire voyage? We've been on the Maasdam and spent about $10 a day per person for the special heated ceramic beds and a spa like experience. We had to sign up on day one. Is that the same procedure on the Emerald? Thanks, Tortigabby
cherylandtk Posted October 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2008 As noted in your first thread, the Sanctuary is the outdoor area above the Lotus spa pool. You can use that area for a morning or afternoon session for about $10. There are no reservations and no weekly passes. http://www.princess.com/learn/onboard/activities/daytime_activities/day_sanctuary/index.html http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=2499 The Thermal Suite is within the Lotus spa, does have the ceramic loungers and does allow access to the aromatherapy sauna. A pass is available for one day or the full cruise. There are several pictures posted online. I tried to link, but CC is blocking the website. Google "Emerald Princess steamroom" and you will see a splashy series of pictures of both the Sanctuary and Thermal suite. tortigabby Posted October 10, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted October 10, 2008 Thanks to everyone who answered me. I'm new at this and kept looking in the wrong place for a reply. Hope to see all CCs on this cruise. Tortigabby;)
Debe7ing Posted October 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 10, 2008 We were aboard the Emerald this past Feb 08 and enjoyed the Sanctuary quite a bit. I think that we were there part of the day for all but 2 days on our cruise. It was $15 each if I remember, but there was a morning and afternoon session. We would book our spot for both sessions just to have it when we got back aboard and be able to enjoy without concerns. Staff there is WONDERFULLY attentive and we very much enjoyed our quiet time there. In Feb we had to go daily to secure reservations, but I read a review recently from a pax that said they were able to reserve for the entire cruise...have not been able to verify this, but certainly hope so as we sail the Emerald again in Feb 09. Hope this helps!
