calmac Posted October 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 8, 2008 I took these photos yesterday when the QE2 visited Scotland for the last time. Some were taken from Dalgety Bay in Fife, others from South Queensferry. Unfortunately it rained nearly all day although it did stop for her sailing away. Not sure if it was rain or tears! http://community.webshots.com/album/567773859kIYqYJ
supered Posted October 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Great photos Calmac. It was so emotional seeing her for the last time. The rubbish weather almost added to the atmosphere. Nice to see some shots of the departure. We were in Newhaven and she quite far away from us on the way out and it was getting dark. We got a good view using binoculars though. The sound of the whistle was awe inspiring. She will certainly be missed. Thanks for posting. Eddie
No534 Posted October 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 8, 2008 Shame about the weather, but great pictures and very atmospheric. Thanks for sharing them. (At least Muriel Gray wasn't there to sink another boat..........!!) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/glasgow_and_west/7654288.stm
RAL72 Posted October 11, 2008 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2008 Shame about the weather??? It was an absolutely glorious day on the Clyde last Sunday - I got sunburnt, it was clear skies, sunshine and then a night sky bursting with stars later on, the brightest star being the QE2 of course. My photos :- Link to my Flickr Photo set of the day
