What color shoes for a navy blue suit?

I got a great buy on a suit for my son at Sears! It was marked down to $20.99 and fits him perfect, with some room to grow. Now my dilimma is what color shoes to buy for him. He is still growing and has gone through 2 shoe sizes since June so spending over $20.00 for shoes is not an option right now. He is one size away from a man's size shoe so I am sure I can get a great deal on them, but I don't know what color to buy. Thanks in adavnce.

You won't go wrong with black. Ditto for the belt.

I have to diasgree-I don't like the way black shoes look with a navy suit.

My personal preference would be for cordovan.

I agree with Andee. Black is awful with a blue suit.

 

I'd also chose cordovan - also referred to as burgundy or oxblood.

 

Find navy socks that match the suit.

I agree with Jane. What about Penny loafers. They would also look good with Chinos for informal nights. Classic look!

I used to sell suites while I was in school. I agree black does not fit with navy. Go with the oxblood. Penny loafers are fine if pants are not cuffed. If they're cuffed, go with laceups.
