We are 13 days out on the sold out Jan 1 sailing of the Triump, I may be doing something wrong, but if the ship is sold out would'nt our cabin be assigned? I go to fun pass then gift. Booked a 6a guar direct through Carnival, back of S&S says Guar........any thoughts?

It's hard to say. I think sometimes with a sold out ship, it may actually take them longer to assign rooms. There's not as much flexibility to move people around. It's been a while since I have seen someone say that the back of their S&S card still says guarantee when they get their docs. Maybe Carnival overbooked and they are trying to work it out (Don't panic, just a thought:eek: ). I can understand your frustration, but who knows.

My last two cruises have been sold out. Asignments have been set many many weeks ahead of time. Miracle in February has been sold out for quite a while now and all those gauarantee cabins were set at 10 weeks til sailing.

The only reason (i am guessing here) is that you booked after the 70 days final payment came due. Could you tell me when you booked?

You dont have your documents yet coz you could look there. or the modif page on carnival.

I can't belive it. This usually does not work for me but I checked today and It WORKED! I booked a 8A g[font='Times New Roman']uaranteed on the Pride for Feb 6th and today it stated 8I Panorama 8148. Thank you to everyone on this board for the trick.:D [/font]

Well, one thing's for sure there's no consistency. I'm only 34 days out and Book/Modify or Funpass/Gift methods sitll don't work for me. A few people started getting their docs the end of last week, but ours hasn't arrived yet. There are still a lot of open cabins on our sailing and several in categories above what we are currently assigned. I wonder what the possibility of us getting a further upgrade beyond the 8A to 8I would be?

People would think we're obsessed with knowing the information, but in my case that's not true. We'd be happy with the 8A guarantee we booked, it's just fun to try to decipher the system.:D

We are 14 days out and when checking our book/modify page is still says Cat 8A and a guarantee. We booked many weeks ago and of course paid up in full 70 days prior and still nothing. Our TA did say the sailing was sold out. Of course with all the hassle we had with the air add on I am just happy that part worked out. I am going to stop sweating the small things and just accept the fact we do have a cabin somewhere and we may not find out until we get there.

We sail on January 13th, no documents and still showing guarantee no matter which method I try. I am convinced that we are sleeping in the life boats!! Actually I would really like to know since we are taking our son and his girlfriend along with our 3 other kids. My son has just gotten back from 4 months officer training with the National Guard and has been in training for 11 months of their relationship. I am really hoping that they get a good cabin as it will be her first cruise.

We sail on Fascination on Jan 2 and utilizing all methods stated here prior to receiving the docs it is still a guarentee. But received an email from my travel agent(me :)) on Friday saying the docs have been mailed, so I guess if it is on the back of the sign and sail document, I should know by Tuesday. Not really sure an upgrade matters since unless it is to a suite, it is just a matter of what deck it would be on, and I don't really care about that, but I would like to know the location, the closer to the stairs and therefore the bars and casino the better lol.

I'm booked for 12/25/04, just received docs 2 days ago and still have no sign of a cabin assignment. I checked the sign & sail card, did the funpass and bookmodify method and zilch (TA was no help either)...what could this mean? I'm so anxious I can't stand it but at least I'll be in the Bahamas in less than a week. whoo hoo!

We're booked Jan 23rd. No doc's yet, but called TA and asked for a booking #. (Said people wanted to give us Chritmas gifts) Then applied it to Fun pass printed that and went to buy a gift for myself ( as per Serene) and BANG there was my room number. Also check DH and he has a different last name and BOOM, there it was again, The same room number. So again, Serene you rock..

on the back page of your sign and sail page on the bottom is a long series of numbers that starts with your booking number. IF you do NOT see GTEE in those numbers one is your cabin number. Its the only place where it can be seen. The rest of the documents will read TBA

No, I did'nt check on Friday. Actually I was'nt going to check again until I was under 40 days but today I just thought I'd give it a try and their it was. I'm really excited because I believe 8I is an extended balcony. This is the first balcony room I have ever booked so I'm really looking forward to it.

TMIL: Thats great. An 8I is an extended balcony. What cabin did you get? The best is 6232 or 6234 on the spirit class ships. I prefer the aft 8I's. booked 6262 on the Miracle come February.

Thats why I am asking people when they booked- Seems that people who booked AFTER final payment came due...booked a cruise and paid in full like you did... dont get their cabins set until the last possible moment. I see you booked your cruise 60 days before the cruise. Its not like it was a last minute cruise though. Its only 10 days after final payment was due.
