Just back from first NCL cruise...some questions

To our eyes it looks like plenty of room but to US Coast Guard eyes it doesn't unfortunately. :(

Looking at the deck plans it looks like the Majesty has deck chairs between sectioned off areas. This must not count as being on the main walk area and is why they are allowed. Clearly the Maj's deck isn't wider then the Sun/Sky/America's deck so this is the only thing I can think of.

I'm sure that you're correct ohioNCLcruiser. Thanks for posting the photos. I just love the wrap-around deck so much that I'd love to spend more time sitting there, as I can do on other lines !! Gotta follow the rules though. :)

I totally agree with you! I was thinking that the Sun had metal benches built in on the promenade deck -- but now that you mention it didn't have any, I think it was probably the old Sea. They were used to storage of extra life jackets, etc., but they were at least a place to sit and watch the sunset....

The Norwegian Dream has those metal benches with life jackets & I DID sit there everyday watching the sunset !! :)

I haven't been on the Dream yet, so I know it wasn't that one :D . I'm really thinking it was the Sea. We would go out at night to walk around the promenade deck after dinner, but I usually gave up after one time around and found a bench with a good view.....

2.0 Enhancement from Press Release on ncl.com

• Balcony and Mini Suites, all of the above plus:

• Special color keycard;

• Escort to stateroom on embarkation day;

• Bathrobes;

• Customized Fruit Menu;

• Fresh-baked cookie at turn down on last night of cruise;

• Priority Restaurant Reservation and Reception hotlines.

• Suites and Villas, all of the above plus:

• Designated platinum color keycard for ship-wide recognition

I remember something from another press release where it said something like

“something to go with that balcony” and also mentioned the color code for keycards

This could be a way of prioritizing who sits where in the dining rooms.
