How's The Water?

I know that in many tourist areas they use purified water so it's safe. Does anyone know if this is true in Majahual? I do not drink beer, so are the foo foo drinks ok or stay away for safety?

Sorry, wrong town sited, not Majahual but Progeso and Merida. If you go out on your own, what do you need to look out for in regard to food and water? Thanks

For just water, I would probably go with bottled water. Almost any business that caters to tourist will be using ice from ice plants that is purified. They really don't want their visitors getting sick. Many businesses have water purification systems. Merida is a beautiful city. Food at Le Saint Bonnet in Progreso was great.
