Just Returned - Nautica Istanbul to Venice

We just returned from our best cruise yet! Although we did not knowingly meet any fellow Cruise Criticers on board, I am sure we ran into each other in Amalfi or Kotor or Athens or Istanbul etc. several times.

 

The Oceania service was excellent and the itinerary superb! Our balcony investment paid off as the weather was shirt sleeves and shorts. We even swam in the ships' pool and in the Mediterranean at least a half a dozen times.

 

We found Oceania's staff to be visibly happy (or they are great actors) and they stayed out of the way unless we needed something. The room service and in-cabin food were top notch, the best we have ever experienced.

 

Enjoyed the food in all the restaurants, particulalry Toscana where we ate 3 times.

 

Only draw back was the entertainment which we found not to our liking (buskerish and boring) and, we were literally blown out of Santorini harbour and could not land there due to extremely high winds (new experience was to see sickness bags set out at all elevators!).

 

Some of our group members felt the Oceania arranged tours were overpriced. We had done our homework and booked our own excursions at roughly half the Oceania price.

 

Best Place - Mykonos and Taormina Sicily tied! Will answer any questions anyone may have.
