FlorenceItaly Posted April 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2004 Welcome Home! Just curious, why no Coco Cay? We are booked on the 4 day Majesty of the Seas next Spring Break specifically for Coco Cay, and I will be very disappointed if we don't go. BTW, I have never been but have heard FAB things. Florida Beach Posted April 17, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 17, 2004 Please post a review. We are planning a Sovereign cruise in a near future and would appreciate any info about her. Is the Coco Cay a temp. thing? flaboy Posted April 17, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted April 17, 2004 we missed coco cay because of the weather.i live in florida so on sunday night and monday morning we had a cold front come thru with some pretty heavy rain and high wind...as most cold fronts do they go south.i woke up after winning some money in the casino to a really nice lighting show outside our window at about 4 am.at that time we were sitting off of coco cay.the captian decided it was not going to get better so we went to nassau a day early. one thing i will say the captian did try to go back to coco cay on thursday mprning we sat off the island for a very long time early in the morning before dawn..the weather was still bad so the captian went on to try to find some sun for the passengers. pegasushello Posted April 17, 2004 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2004 shouldnt they give you some kind of substition when something like that happens or an alternative for the missed part of the trip? I would think as a customer service issue if you told them of your dissappointment maybe a coupn towards another trip sometime with a % off of it? Just a thought. Sorry you missed coco cay its my favorite also
Michuck Posted April 17, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 17, 2004 I'm leaving on the Sovereign this coming Friday! Can't wait!! Can you tell me if there are hair driers in the cabins? Friend of mine since we were 12 (43 years ago! YOUCH!) are leaving hubbies at home and are doing the 3-dayer. We only see each other once every few years, so this is going to be really special. We're going to stay up late, drink, smoke and talk - and our Mom's won't be there telling us not to like they did when we were young.
pegasushello Posted April 17, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 17, 2004 the hair dryers are not high powered enough but yes they have them if you want to take and hour to dry your hair.....I suggest you bring your own though
ahoughton Posted April 18, 2004 #12 Share Posted April 18, 2004 We have been on Sovereigns four times and plan again this fall. We have missed Coco Cay on one of our trips. I guess if Royal Caribbean could control the weather we would have expected compensation for missing the port. We have always enjoyed the food. 3dogmom Posted April 18, 2004 #15 Share Posted April 18, 2004 Michuck - Me and my best girlfriend will be on the 4/23 Sovereign also! Great to leave the hubbies at home and let loose! For you recent SOS cruisers, my favorite thing to eat while I'm cruising is smoked salmon on my bagel, love the lox!! Does the Sovereign offer this? Thanks!
