mdod Posted October 27, 2008 #1 Share Posted October 27, 2008 We'll be sailing to the Bahamas on the Norwegian Majesty Dec 13-20 which goes to Great Stirrup Cay, Nassau and Freeport. We'll be in Nassau from 8 AM to midnight, Freeport from 9AM to 6PM. Although some have said the snorkeling at GSC is good, others have not been impressed. If we only did one other snorkel excursion, any thoughts on whether it would be better to go with Stuarts Cove in Nassau or Paradise Cove in Freeport? Someone also mentioned a good snorkel trip from a place at the British Colinial Hilton in Nassau. Thanks!
Dive Master Posted October 27, 2008 #2 Share Posted October 27, 2008 I would think that Stuart Cove's would be the way to go. Their 3 location snorkel trip sounds really neat. I have dived a few of their shallow sites and the fish life was very good.School House Reef has lots of fish and very little current.Never been to GSC but will be there in 3 weeks on the Majesty. 3poes Posted October 31, 2008 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2008 We snorkeled Freeport in Aug and had a wonderful day. We were there between Faye and Gustav and were worried about the conditions. We ended up having a great day. The water was clear and sea-life abundant, we even got a visit from a pod of dolphins!! Very Cool! We ended the day snorkeling for sand dollars near shore, easy, fun and you got to take something back with you. We booked our shore excursion with Capt Tony at http://www.sanddollarcruise.com it was a great value and we always felt safe and comfortable.
