rubybc62 Posted November 4, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2008 Ship docks at 8 am. Flight from Miami to SF departs at 10:45. Will there be enough time to get from port to the airport? Need to be at airport by 9:15. Is this doable?
cruisinelsewhere Posted November 4, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2008 The simple answer is......maybe but probably not. After the ship docks it needs to clear customs. After that, you need to clear immigrations, find luggage and clear customs. Then you need to get a taxi and get to the airport. Personally, I wouldn't even think about it. I have seen far too many delays for debarkations (customs took longer than expected, someone trips on the gangplank, etc). JMO
auntdana Posted November 5, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 5, 2008 that is to close for comfort you have to always allow the unplanned event that could happen not a good idea cutting it to close

gmcrow Posted November 9, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 9, 2008 Have sailed on RCCL's Majesty five times in the past two years and made it to the airport on Friday am with plenty of time to spare for AA's 10:45 flight. We do the self embarkation where we handle our own luggage rather than put it outside the cabin on the last night and just walk off the ship with luggage in hand. That puts you first off the ship. Very little wait for customs. Cab to MIA, check bags curbside and off to security. Can't say it would work on other cruise lines, and maybe we've just been lucky. BlueHerons Posted November 9, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 9, 2008 You could make it but I wouldn't take the chance. Plus it would ruin your last night on the ship worrying about docking in time to make the flight.
cruiserbryce Posted November 9, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 9, 2008 theres a possibility but with so many things that are out of your control why chance it...it also would affect the last day of the cruise...you'd spend the whole day worrying about the flight the next am...we always try for noon flights
eandj Posted November 10, 2008 #8 Share Posted November 10, 2008 Maybe, maybe not. WAAAY too close for us. We enjoy being the last off the ship and just enjoying our last cup of coffee before heading home to reality. No stress till then, thank you.
