travel agent vs carnival agent

The advantage to booking with Carnival is they dont have any fees, to change or cancel before final payment. Many TAs do. Also, if the price drops you can call Carnival any time, a TA has more limited hours and you might not get the price drop. I had a $60 price drop and my TA said it wasnt worth their while for so little money.

The advantage of a TA is many will discount Carnival prices.

Is there any advantage to use the PVP from Carnival vs using a local travel agent to plan cruises?

Thanks for any information.

Sometimes a certain credit card to earn cruise points has their own TA so that way, you can get more $$ off your cruise that say Carnival wouldn't be able to do for you.
