Photo opportunity in Brisbane

The Diamond Princess visits Brisbane at the Fisherman Island grain terminal on 10th December. As I'm sailing on her with my daughter on 5th Jan out of Sydney, I thought it would be great to get a look and take some photos while she is in our home town. DI will be at the terminal from 0800 until 1800.

Does anyone know of a good public vantage point to see the ship? I live on the southside of Brisbane.

Any help would be appreciated.

We cruised out of Brisbane a couple of years ago on the Oriana and it was docked at Fishermans Island, which is very much a working port. Sorry to say but from what I saw, you won't get anywhere close. Mum & Dad drove us there and we had to go through security to get to the dock area and then they were only able to stop long enough for us to get out ... as soon as we had our bags out of the boot, security was telling Dad to head off.

Cheers

Thanks for all of your contributions so far :)

I've also been told Port Drive (only a few parking spots) and Piped Rd at Pinkenba on the northern side of Brisbane River.

I will check them all out in the street directory.

All the best,

Moira
