closest nice beach to cruise ship

Don't remember how close to the port it was but in February we took a cab to Kontiki beach. It was wonderful and we plan to return this coming February. Our taxi driver took us there (even stopped at a pharmacy for us to get cough medicine) and then came back when we asked him to to return us to ship. Lovely beach, chairs to rent, clean bathrooms, bar and restaurant, plenty of palm trees for shade.

We just returned last night. We went to Carlise Bay beach and hung out at the Lobster Alive restaurant (next to Boatyard).

It was $3 pp for cab ride to Lobster Alive. Rental is $15.00 total for 2 chairs/large umbrella and 3 drink coupons (rum punch or soda). Very good - strong rum punch.

We spent about 4 hours there - water was calm, warm and beautiful. We rented jet ski for $40 for 30 minutes. It was soo hot we spent a lot of time in water and then under umbrella.

Got cab back for $3 pp to terminal.

I'd go back to this beach - it was only 5-10 minutes ride from terminal.

And while you have lunch there

this is your view out over Carlisle Bay and the umbrellas he's talking about.

We just returned from our cruise and in Barbados, we walked [we like the exercise!] to this beach. Very nice until later in the morning when all the boats offering rides, jet-ski vendors, etc appeared and then the view was littered with vehicles!! We left about Noon, though, so we had a nice morning there. No snorkeling, which we were disappointed to find.

We liked the beach and the vendors were not pushy as at some other stops.

Next time, I think we'd try another beach [maybe the one at Weiser's?, or Folkestone], just for variety.
