Back To Back On The Destiny ???

We're thinking of doing a back to back. We are booked on the 12/25 Destiny 4 day cruise to KW and Coz. We have been toying with the idea of doing a back to back, Destiny from 12/20 -12/25. Ocho Rios and GC.

Has anyone done a back to back in Miami? What do you do with you luggage? Do you pack for two weeks or do laundry onboad? What do you do in port between cruises? Do they make you get off the ship? Do you just hang out in the waiting area? We have a balcony cabin for the Dec 25 cruise how do they work it when you have to move cabins?

Any info would be helpful search is not working!

We just got back last night from a B2B on the Destiny. We did KW and Coz and then Grand Turk, HMC and Nassau.

I packed for one cruise and did laundry on our turn around day. All of us B2Bers met at the Purser's Desk and we walked through Customs and back on the ship. It was a fairly easy process. Only issue we had was that they didn't have our cards for us when we got back on. They were not expecting a large group so we couldn't get our cards until after noon, although the new passengers had theirs when they boarded at 11:30. That caused a little frustration, but nothing huge. It was great waiting on the ship while everyone left and then having it to ourselves for a few hours while waiting for the new passengers. We had access to our cabins so we could hang their or on the Lido. Like I said, I did laundry.

We didn't have to change cabins, but a few in our group did. Maybe one of them will post on how it worked.

Do they call you over the loud speakers to meet up for customs or set a time?

No, that would have taken forever :p LOL... they told us when to meet. We met at 10am, they walked us off, we went through customs, we got back on. The S&S card was a pain, but thankfully we had booze we had bought on the 1st leg :p

It was great... we had a wonderful time. Make sure you book the same cabin for both legs so you don't have to fuss with your luggage. Also, our stewards told us we could skip the 2nd muster drill... which was nice. I would do a B2B on this ship anytime, great itinerary!!!

Oh yeah, I packed for 2 weeks... didn't do a bit of laundry! We could have done it free and I thought about it many times, but just never got around to it.

You will receive a letter during your first leg that will give you instruction on what to on change over day.

My options were:

  • Report to the Pursor's desk to be escorted off the ship and through immigration at 1030.
  • If I wanted to spend the day in Miami, report to the Pursor's desk at 8 AM to be escorted off the ship. I would then have to re-check in at the VIP lounge, and couldn't reboard until general embarkation started.

I did laundry on turnaround day also. I would definitely recommend trying to have the same cabin! A couple in our group had to switch, and they said it was a pain. They had to pack, get a steward to move their things to the new cabin, and then they didn't have access to anything until 1:30, while the rest of us could come and go from our cabin.

We didn't get off until long after all the other passengers had gotten off. They escorted us off, went through customs (no belongings with us), and went back on. Some people reported being able to get drinks on their old cards before the new group got on, but I just drank the stuff in my cabin. ;)

Well, you're supposed to receive a letter.

Paulie and I figured out that the 5 people they had on their list were probably the 5 that didn't book with the group - you, Zone, Pammie, and the couple not with our group.

Someone dropped the ball big time on that one, how can you 'miss' 30 people doing back to back.

I can't wait!! We just booked a B2B2B on the Destiny next October.

I would then have to re-check in at the VIP lounge, and couldn't reboard until general embarkation started.

Even if your not Platinum??

Also, our stewards told us we could skip the 2nd muster drill... which was nice.

Now that is a great perk!!!!

Zone was booked with the group... I didn't get a letter either, it's a good thing I asked! LOL! I figured eventually they would notice we were still on the ship and ask us what the heck we were doing :p LOL

Hey, what happened to you guys in Cozumel? I was sitting in Carlos n Charlies and saw y'all coming in around 4:00. Why were you late?

The B2B process in Tampa was so easy. I didn't have to do squat. Didn't have to go through customs or anything. Just another day on the ship. The only problem was the computers went down in Tampa so they couldn't activate my S&S card. I was still able to get drinks at the pool though...just went down later to activate the card!

We had to turnaround at aboutr 2:30 that morning for a medical emergency, so we didn't get in until 4, and stayed til Midnight. Hope you had a great time!!!!! Sorry we missed you!

Hopefully this will go OK. We booked 2 cabins for the 25th cruise for 5. Grandparent joining us. Then last night decided to go also the week before on the 20th. Called today and got 2 connecting cabins for us and kids(grandparent is not joining us on the 20th) so cabins will not be the same:o bummer. Anyway TA said it is not a true BTB whatever that means because of the 1 extra joining on the 25th. They said to go to the desk and tell them that we will be on the 25th sailing also and to do it right away. They said they shouldn't make us get all the way off and wait in line again. So no idea what will happen. Grandparent has her on CC on the funpass and was going to check in after us anyway, DD is in with her on the second leg and on our funpass both times.

it is a bummer not to have the same cabin.... but just give your steward a little extra tip and he/she will help you.

You will get off the ship... you won't have to go all the way out into the terminal, that is probably what your TA meant. You will get off the ship, they will walk you down, you go through customs and get back on the ship. you will get off last, and get back on first.. it's easy.

If you don't have to do the second Muster drill, can you stay on Lido, or do you have to stay in your cabin?

You have to stay in your cabin... or someone else's cabin... many in our group had a muster party... I napped :p LOL

It doesn't matter if there ar people joining you for the second leg. I was solo for the first leg and had a room mate join me for the second. It did not change my reboarding at all. Just do your transition and those joining you will get their stuff when they check in!
