LAX Info needed

We will be arriving LAX by Air New Zealand, actually a United Flight.

Will we be at Air New Zealand - Terminal 2 - or United International - Terminal 6?

 

Have to get to U. S. Airways - Terminal 1.

 

Does U. S. Airways have Ticket Counter in Customs Area?

So we can check luggage and get Boarding Passes.

Couple of questions??? Is this one ticket or two??? Will your luggage be checked through

from New Zealand to your ultimate destination??? Will you get boarding passes to your final destination in New Zealand??? Most likely, you will land at Terminal 6. Could even be Terminal 7. United has T-6, 7, 8.

The NORMAL procedure at LAX for most international flights: Arrive, go through immigration, go to baggage claim, pick up your luggage, go through customs, THEN you can either return your luggage to the transit desk OR take your luggage with you and check in at the proper terminal for your next flight.

 

My recommendation (yours is VERY easy). IF you arrive Terminal 2, AFTER you clear customs, walk out the door, turn left and go to Terminal one (right next door). Check in with US Air, check your luggage and get your boarding pass. Go through security and board your plane.

 

IF you arrive United's International terminal, after you clear customs, walk out the door and go STRAIGHT across the parking lot (there are good sidewalks on the North side of the restaurant that looks like a space ship-the Encounter). Again, go into Terminal One and proceed from there.

 

Often time, just grabbing your luggage after you clear Customs and going to the next terminal is faster than standing in the transit line, ESPECIALLY if your luggage has NOT been tagged to your ultimate destination. And if you leave New Zealand without boarding passes, you have to deal with the gate area anyhow-either a kiosk or check in agent.

Back to one ticket or two.....you list two FLIGHT numbers. We know you have two flights. This doesn't clear up the ticket issue. Were these booked as two separate tickets or as one?

 

This is critical info....if you don't know, how did you get these tickets? Through what channel and what info do you have in the way of locators or receipts?

Then, One Ticket -- U. S. Airways.
