nanocats Posted November 13, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2008 For those who've sailed the Oosterdam this year to Mexico, what time were you able to get on shore (local time, not ship time) if you didn't have an excursion booked through the ship? Trying to determine timing of independent excursions. Currently: Cabo San Lucas: Arrive at 8am (assuming this is same as local time) and tender to shore. Have an excursion at 10am, about a 20-30 minute walk away from the tender dock Mazatlan: Arrive at 8am (local time?). Want to do an excursion at 9am (picks up at cruise doc), but not sure if that is too early to make. Puerto Vallarta: Arrive at 8am (no idea if this is local time, I'm hoping so). Have an excursion at 9:30am, about 20-30 minutes away. Also, was boarding time 1 hr or 30 minutes prior to sail time? What about last tender in Cabo? Experiences, advice welcome. Thanks! dj_crusin Posted November 13, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2008 I don't know the answer, but be sure to verify the time zone for local excursions in Puerto Vallarta. Technically Puerto Vallarta and Neuvo Vallarta are on different time zones. Most people use Jalisco/Puerto Vallarta time, but it won't hurt to check. larsenbiz Posted November 13, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Nanocats, Do NOT assume that the time is the same. We missed our last shore excursion because of this. It appears that the ports will be 1 hour later than the time in San Diego. Please check for yourself, though. Also, check and see if ship time and shore time are the same. nanocats Posted November 17, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted November 17, 2008 Thanks for the replies. Anyone off the Oosterdam recently who knows what time local time they arrived and/or got off the ship in Puerto Vallarta? Thanks!
Ine Posted November 17, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 17, 2008 Oosterdam and Ryndam in P. Vallarta stay on shiptime, not vallarta time. This because Vallarta is the only ship in another time-zone. (different from Mazatlan and Cabo). Shiptime 08.00 is 09.00 am Vta time. Depending where you have to go, it seems very (too?) short.
