Dagny Posted November 14, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 14, 2008 The ship is docked from 1pm to 10pm in Cozumel, and we are mulling over options. We really like the idea of tubing down the underground rivers and are wondering about the pros and cons of Xcaret vs Xelha. Which has a more exciting and/or lengthier river ride? Other activities, (we are four adults), that are better at one? Which park has better food? We don't do ship tours, is one park more easily reached/serviced by taxi from the port? Are there any shuttles available from the port to either park? One of us has some knee problems and can't manage too many stairs or walk long distances - is one park easier for that? Any other comments appreciated :)

gottago2mexico Posted November 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2008 For Cozumel cruisers, I'd recommend Xcaret. The reason is because Xcaret is just 10 minutes south of Playa del Carmen (where the ferry comes in) while Xel Ha is about 45 minutes south. That's over 1 hour round-trip that you could be spending at the park instead of in a cab, not to mention the extra cost. Both parks are awesome, so no worries there. Hope this helps, have a great time!
mariemorgan Posted November 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2008 You cannot take a taxi directly from port. Both parks are on the mainland so you have to take a water taxi to Playa Del Carmen then take a taxi or shuttle from there to the parks.
