gigguy Posted November 16, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2008 This may seem like a strange question......In 2000 we took our first cruise on the old Viking Serenade. That cruise had a midnight buffet. I have to say that most people where just taking pictures and gawking. It was beautiful! We have now book our second and third cruise on RCCL. October 2009 on the EOS to New England/Canada and July 2010 on the new Oasis to the Caribbean. Do they still do the midnight buffet? Thanks, Sam

Thanks, Sam I dont often stay up that late, but my experience is that the midnight buffet has gone and they do other snacks in lounges and casino at midnight. The midnight buffet was beautiful but I think it was a huge waste of $$.

satxdiver Posted November 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2008 On the VOS in March and AOS in September there was no midnight buffet. It is my understanding that it has been eliminated entirely. The EOS is a voyager class ship same as the VOS and AOS. They had pizza, small sandwiches and cookies in the promenade cafe late at night along with coffee and other drinks. Room service is always available 24 hours. I am not sure if you just wanted to be a picture taker or partaker.

msjaxson Posted November 16, 2008 #6 Share Posted November 16, 2008 The past two cruises we were on had a deck party with a smaller version of the midnite buffet that had some of beautiful displays and carvings -it seemed to me that more folks ate food at this buffet than the grand ones of past sailings
Cruise_Couple Posted November 16, 2008 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2008 Well I totally understand why Royal Caribbean did away with the midnight buffet, I must admit that I miss it. The current poolside buffet they do is very nice but it lacks that "traditional classic cruise feeling".
