Now we have the name and christening location!

The second new ship will be known as the Seabourn Sojourn and will be christened in June 2010 at Greenwich, London.

Greenwich is a wonderful choice because of its associations with maritime history as well, of course, as being the place where the 0° longtitude was born.

More info on the naming is at the Seabourn blogg and the new press release says this

LONDON, November 20, 2008----The Yachts of Seabourn is excited to announce the next highly anticipated ultra-luxury yacht will be named Seabourn Sojourn in a glittering ceremony in London in June 2010 before sailing on its 14-day Maiden Voyage. Launching Seabourn Sojourn in London marks a significant commitment by The Yachts of Seabourn to the UK cruise market.

“London has always been a great destination for our Seabourn yachts,” noted Seabourn president and CEO Pamela Conover. “We have earned a large and loyal following of repeat cruise guests from the UK, and we are proud to debut our beautiful new vessel in London.

In the long term, the UK represents a huge growth market for Seabourn as UK cruisers look for a more intimate, personal experience offering exceptional value for money, all of which can be found on our yachts. As such, I am delighted to announce that Seabourn Sojourn’s Maiden Voyages will be departing from the UK, providing this market with an unparalleled ultra-luxury cruise product.”

Sailing from Greenwich on its Maiden Voyage, ports of call include the Faroe Islands, Iceland and the Norwegian Fjords. Sojourn’s Maiden Season in the northern waters offers the most luxurious and spacious cruise experience in the region, although the yacht is still small enough to reach destinations larger vessels simply cannot reach. Fares and detailed itineraries will be announced in February 2009.

Like its sister Seabourn Odyssey, launching in June 2009, Seabourn Sojourn provides the most exclusive all-suite accommodation available at sea, with 225 suites in total, 90% of which have private verandahs. Top of the range suites include Wintergarden Suites with private conservatories and verandahs, and Signature Suites with sweeping verandahs and unrivalled views facing forward. All suites feature separate living areas and bedrooms, writing desks with personalised stationery, iPod and MP3 connections and spacious granite bathrooms with separate bath and shower and twin sinks.

The two-deck, state of the art Spa features Spa Villas which can be reserved for hours of pure indulgence and relaxation. The new vessels offer four dining venues, including a spacious open-seating Restaurant capable of seating all guests. There are six bars and lounges serving a full range of beverages including fine wines and spirits with Seabourn’s compliments.

Seabourn Sojourn is the second of three 450-guest vessels being added to The Yachts of Seabourn’s fleet of intimate, yacht-like cruisers, which have won numerous awards and consistent acclaim for highly personalised service, sumptuous, all-suite accommodation, superb cuisine and exceptional delivery of the most desirable destinations worldwide whilst continuing to offer exceptional value for money. The first, Seabourn Odyssey, will debut at Venice in June of 2009, and a third, as yet un-named, is due in 2011.

It's just a shame she can't fit under Tower Bridge!
