Cruising89143 Posted November 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Interesting video. Not sure of the ship but it gets good around the five minute mark. http://www.dumpert.nl/mediabase/307971/5201944e/dineren_op_luxe_cruiseschip.html
David4 Posted November 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Looks like a pepper grinder rolling around on the deck. Wow that is some movement. A guy in a white jacket sliding from one side to another.

linkerbink Posted November 22, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 22, 2008 I'm not sure how something can be so funny and yet so NOT funnyl...but I laughed during the whole thing! The odd thing is that I'm VERY prone to seasickness...and I still found it funny.
honeywell Posted November 22, 2008 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Loved the furniture and the one guy sliding across the floor at 6 minute mark. Was that a drink of the day cup rolling across?!!

The odd thing is that I'm VERY prone to seasickness...and I still found it funny. Agree.....OMG...I have tears rolling down my cheeks and my sides hurt from laughing. But yet, it certainly was NOT funny in the least. I felt sorry for the passengers.....where does a person go? You need to get away from all the debries.....but yet the video showed you couldn't even walk.....things rolling all over the floor and you could easily trip over something making it much worse! We love the rougher seas....careful what we wish for!!! ***

bike1964 Posted November 22, 2008 #10 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Doubtful. Why isn't the camera moving with the motion of the ship? Someone gave it a nice try though.
Cruising89143 Posted November 22, 2008 Author #11 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Doubtful. Why isn't the camera moving with the motion of the ship? Someone gave it a nice try though. This is the not first time that we have seen videos like this. We saw the exact same thing on the security camera videos of the Princess ship when she took a huge tilt just off of Pt. Canaveral. Those cameras did not move either. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cmpcwWo63sY&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rgiumz3RRhI&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPJP6OrcJ9A&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRCxZ_p5sY4&feature=related

Parkay Posted November 22, 2008 #15 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Doubtful. Why isn't the camera moving with the motion of the ship? Someone gave it a nice try though. Someone needs to learn what happens when a ATTACHED video camera is on a moving ship. Just like the security video from Princess when they tilted, the camera IS moving with the ship, but since it is moving the same as the ship, and it attached to the ship, you are not going to see the camera move. This is VERY real. Duh.
Parkay Posted November 22, 2008 #16 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Doubtful. Why isn't the camera moving with the motion of the ship? Someone gave it a nice try though. Here, my little skeptic, is actual security video from Crown Princess when she tilted. Notice the camera doesn't move. How would an attached camera MOVE? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRCxZ_p5sY4&mode=related&search http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc9EL_O1B7s&mode=related&search

Rancher Dave Posted November 22, 2008 #21 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Interesting....would have to skip tipping that night...service seemed to cut off...where is my refill? :D On one of my Summer Work ships, we were tossed all over for 12-24 hours...think it was closer to the full day...sat to eat, one hand on the drink...one arm on the plate to keep it still and the fork in a hand...bend over the plate to eat. Chairs were bolted to the floor and would twist side to side...so we would roll around some, but generally had to eat fast to get dinner down. On another trip when we had to head into a hurricane, I just skipped eating for a day.

Havana Daydreamin Posted November 22, 2008 #23 Share Posted November 22, 2008 And through it all...the pepper grinder maintained it's place! Tough little guy! Glad that I was not the only one to laugh. I felt a bit guilty until reading some of your other reactions. Nope....no hopes for rough seas from me! Here's to smooth sailing for everyone! dog8it Posted November 22, 2008 #24 Share Posted November 22, 2008 WOW - it was funny but not - but very educational. I noticed the girl that was holding on to that table for dearl life - so now I know to find a table - anchored to the floor - and behind a fix wall - which was a half way in this case. I was a little amazed that the crew member who walked through that area several times didn't anchor anything down. something big like that big wheeled cart that clipped the guy could very easily be anchored, chipped or clipped in place. Wow. just goes to show, you are own your own in bad seas.
rubrrick Posted November 22, 2008 #25 Share Posted November 22, 2008 Make note to self on next cruise.........day 1, find necessary bolted items in public areas to hang on to in case of high seas............or an accidental high speed turn!:D;) Thanks Gordon for finding this interesting video.
