Just back from the NCL Sky... I hope this review is helpful to all of you.

Matt Baker was the CD and throughout the cruise he said, "your here to have a gooood time." Well, that is excatly what my DH and I had; a GOOD time. We enjoyed ourselves, but it certainly wasn't the excellent experience that we remember from NCL.

Our first disappointment was in the sailaway party. My DH and I always attend and usually have a really wonderful time. We were very disappointed in the band playing-No Habla Espanol. We do not speak spanish and spanish music really isn't our thing as we have no idea what's being said. We found that this band was playing during most of the parties. I would have rather seem Caribbean Vibes. They are a really great reggae band, but they play a variety of music. They played on the deck for about an hour each day and we enjoyed ourselves everytime they did. This of course is just our personal preference and you may disagree with us.

My second disappointment was the buffet. I remember NCL having more of a selection in the buffet as my DH and I rarely ate in the restaurants last time. I found the buffet to be mostly hamburgers and hotdogs, which would have been okay but the rolls did not seem to fresh.

We found our room to be extremely small- big shock from being in a balcony on the Pride of Aloha, but we were comfortable. It was a little tight moving around, but the bed was VERY comfortable. (LOVE THE PILLOWS). We never spend much time in our rooms anyway.

Since I wasn't pleased with eating in the buffet the first night, the second two nights we tried the FREE restaurants. (Crossing and Palace) I enjoyed myself and over ate at both places. Some of the food was more tasty then others, but overall I thought it was excellent. Since my DH couldn't make up his mind on what to order he ordered two meals each night, so I had a chance to sample three meals. There was only one meal I didn't care for (the Pasta Carbonara- pretty bland.) The Chicken, and tortellini were both great. And the desserts were to die for.

Overally, the entertainment I found to be a little weak. I enjoyed myself at the shows, but usually I find myself wanted to see them twice. Once was enough (although they were only offered once anyway.) The dancers were very good, the Mike Puppora (comedian/magician) was funny but not the greatest. I definitly missed the NCL song on the last night. That usual brings me to tears.

The last night we LOVED quest. My DH and I both did things that I can't believe we'd ever do This was hilarious and tons of fun. Although please don't bring your children to this show. I don't understand why parents still bring their kids when they are told its an ADULT SHOW.

After Quest we headed over to the TOGA party. We were disappointed that by the time we got to the TOGA party all the togas were gone. If you are going to do both make sure you go straight to the party. We made the mistake of stopping back at the room to grab the rest of our helmet.

Overall we had a gOOd time. This wasn't a planned trip, but when I saw the price we had to go. We definitly had our disappointments, but made the best of it. I guess I had higher expectations since FREESTYLE 2.0 rolled out. Honestly, I didn't notice the differences except for the pillows. I say bring back 1.0.

***I forgot to mention it was too windy we couldn't tender to the private island. We also almost didn't make it to Nassau either; however, we waited for to Carnival ships to pull in beside us to block the wind. This was our third time to Nassau, first time to Senor Frogs. We had the best time.

After a 5 hours drive back home, I'm a bit tired so thats all I can write. If you have any specific questions, feel free to send them my way.

Until then.....

Also, there was no Latitutes party and I received no pins. When I inquired they said they were being redesigned for 2.0 and they would be mailed to us. A little disappointing, since this was my fourth cruise with NCL and those were the only benefits I really receive. I was told they usually don't do a latitutes party on short cruises... Oh well, whatever...

the one thing I will mention here, a 3 day cruise is very different from a 5 day or longer cruise. It is geared to a different clientele, offers a different experience and rarely is as much fun. I don't mean they are not fun, but just not the same as a longer one. Missing the private island, I am sure, didn't help much. Again, this time of the year, tendering, especially to the private islands can be very iffy.

Parents bring their kids to the late night comedy shows to and they sit in the front row...um HELLO? I guess they just don't care.

I didn't know they gave outfits out at the Toga Party I just assumed you had to bring your own. Good to know!

We are going to head to Senor Frogs we've never been there. Last time we went to Nassau we took an Island tour and also went to Atlantis.

I definitely learned about the difference in cruises. My previous cruises have all been much longer (7 or 8 nights), with the exception of the Disney cruise that was 4 nights.

This was a quick getaway from reality since it was only $99pp. We did enjoy ourselves and really can't complain when we paid nothing for 3 nights of entertainment...

I am currently a bronze member. We just completed our fourth cruise on NCL.

We were on Deck 8 aft and really liked the location of our room since it was three flights above us to get to food...

I'd go with whats cheaper, but thats just me. Its really a small ship so you can get anywhere rather quickly.

Senor Frogs was a blast. We told the bartender it was our first time and he REALLY liquored up our drinks. Ask for Berny if you go, he tons of gun. I've also done the ATV tour in Nassau that I thought was great. Loved the caves.

On our 4-day last week, if I heard Matt correctly, they "dress" the first 150 people. Because of the chill, our Toga party was moved indoors to the Casino, as well.

I heard the only private gathering on the short cruises are for Silver...it's the wine & cheese gathering. That's what I was told...I guess i'll find out for sure next month.

We are on Deck 9 next month. I guess that's good. I'll be sure to do just that, it will be our first time.

Could someone please explain the toga outfits for both men and women? I'm picturing large sheets and some type of fasteners. I'm so curious about this! I, too, thought you made your own out of your bed sheets. LOL

So funny! lol

I was just recently shopping for toga outfits on the web. So if they supply some and we get there early then i wont have to buy one. Weve never gone to the toga party so this would be my first as well.
