Aplmac Posted June 3, 2009 #451 Share Posted June 3, 2009 If you're a first-timer, you'll get a pretty blue card like this... but if you've sailed Carnival before, you'll get a gold card looking like... .

HarperSays Posted June 4, 2009 #454 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Hi Aplmac- Thanks for the pics. I am super excited for this cruise in October, 2009. I have a couple of questions. In St. Kitts, did you just tell the taxi driver where you wanted to go, or was this a specific tour? Also, do you know the name of the hotel nestled in between the Pitons in St. Lucia? Maybe DH would love to take me there one of these days;).
Aplmac Posted June 4, 2009 #455 Share Posted June 4, 2009 Hi Aplmac-Thanks for the pics. ===> You're very welcome In St. Kitts, did you just tell the taxi driver where you wanted to go -or was this a specific tour? ===> We booked on the spot, right at the pier Also, do you know the name of the hotel nestled in between the Pitons in St. Lucia? ===> Sorry no... To be honest, the one and only time I ever did St.Kitts, we were on a UK ship, not Victory. Nevertheless, we came off the ship to wander around a bit ..found these old geezers making music at the Port's gate out to the town of Basseterre.. and noticed a lady selling tours at a counter in the first bldg. you'll come to, at the base of the pier. We just wanted a quick something to do...anything...half-day is fine ...so we paid US$20 per person for a tour to Brimstone Hill Fortress and back The view from the very top is worth the climb. That's St.Eustatius in the distance.. ...with things to stop-and-see along the way of course.. including the Batik Factory situated in those nice gardens! For the money, we got to see most of the calmer West side of the island and we were back on the ship for lunch by about 1 p.m. which suits me just fine! .............................. DIY (Doing It Yourself) is dead easy in the Caribbean islands. Taxi drivers are all over the place, eager for your business and your U.S.Dollars. Pick one up, tell him what sort of tour you're interested in ...most guys will take you wherever the heck you want to go they don't care where - it's your day ashore! . Aplmac Posted June 5, 2009 #456 Share Posted June 5, 2009 . Imagine waking up to this? That's Nevis at right, with her head in the clouds as usual.. Looking up the West coast of the island .
Aplmac Posted June 5, 2009 #457 Share Posted June 5, 2009 Our approach to Antigua... It's early morning and we're on the way in. See the litle pilot boat? coming out to meet us? I'm out on the 'secret' bow decks for these shots... ..and here's the pilot, mentioned earlier! .
Aplmac Posted June 5, 2009 #458 Share Posted June 5, 2009 Views on the way in to the pier at St.Johns Look at the color of that water! -and that's our pier, straight ahead! .
Aplmac Posted June 6, 2009 #459 Share Posted June 6, 2009 _______________________ the scene looked like this. Shopping area accessible via the boardwalk you see near the boats No taxi-drivers(yet!) -this is where they gather to meet you as you exit the pier A broader view of the pier area.. .
