Don't worry 'bout the good book, at least on the Pearl, they have a great free library...

My DW always brings 2 pop-up hampers ( mesh) We use one for all the kiddies snorkel gear and sandy stuff- rinse, place on balcony, it dries without blowing away! They take up no room in the luggage.

 

If you travel with kids, take scotch tape with the duct tape. Trusst me!
