We just booked our excursion for our our Jan 9th, 2009 9 day Southern Caribbean Cruise on NCL. Here is what we booked

 

Samana

 

Las Terrenas & Botanical Gardens

 

This tour provides time on your own to explore a well-known village and a visit to a botanical garden. Board your open-air transport for the narrated portion of your tour. Along the way your knowledgeable guide will provide interesting information on the history and culture of the Dominican Republic. As you near Las Terrenas, your guide shares facts about the popular area. Your first stop will be the botanical gardens. Parque Ecotopia, a private reserve, features stunning tropical plants and footpaths lined with rainforest vegetation and natural pools. Your guide will provide fascinating information regarding the various plants as you make your way along the trail. After your up-close-and-personal experience with nature, you'll reboard your transport for the short trip to Las Terrenas. Upon arrival in Las Terrenas, you'll be impressed with the charm of the area, the beautiful white-sand beach lined with tall palms and pastel-colored wooden fishing boats as well as its Mediterranean-influenced atmosphere. There are plenty of cafes and oceanfront restaurants as well as shops offering a variety of arts and crafts many of them unique handmade items. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Credit card or cash is required. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel and wear comfortable shoes.

 

Tortola

 

Coast To Coast Scenic Drive

 

This scenic drive is designed for those interested in seeing most of the island while seated for most of the excursion. Some places seen en route are the Administration Complex, Sunny Caribe Art Gallery, various banks, communities, beaches and schools. You'll also enjoy a stop at Cane Garden Bay. This tour includes two separate islands - Beef Island and Tortola, and photo stops are made along the way.

 

Antigua

 

Antigua Beach Escape

 

You'll be taken to Runaway Beach, with one mile of beautiful white-sand, fringed by coconut palms and sea grape trees. Enjoy a rum or fruit cocktail before being escorted to your complimentary lounge chair, reserved for you on the beach. Enjoy a delicious lunch, including a refreshing beverage (rum or fruit punch drink). There are mouth-watering meals to choose from; West Indian curried chicken, and a barbeque chicken and rib combo. Each choice is served with coconut rice and peas, coleslaw, baked potato, sweet corn and a green salad. A pasta dish will also be available for vegetarians. Relax on the beach; take a leisurely walk along the secluded beach; swim in the sea; go for a horseback ride or rent a jet ski. Changing facilities, restrooms, water sports, freshwater showers as well as a beach bar and restaurant are available. Note: Umbrellas and hammocks are available for a nominal fee. Children under 12 years of age will be served a choice of chicken nuggets, hot dogs or hamburgers with fries and fruit punch. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel.

 

 

Barbados

 

Coast To Coast

 

This scenic drive was especially designed for passengers who want to take in the island's highlights with little or no walking. Discover many scenic island sights, such as the National Heroes Square and the Parliament buildings in Bridgetown. Passing Gun Hill, you'll see the carved stone lion, a landmark dating from 1868. As you drive across the island, you'll pass through peaceful villages, eventually reaching St. John's Church, which offers spectacular views of the east and southeast coasts. After St. John's Church, continue to the craggy and scenic area on the east coast called Bathsheba, a photographer's paradise. From here, you'll have an incredible panoramic view of the hills, gentle slopes and sweeping bays. The rustic Edgewater Inn has a nine mile coastline view of the Atlantic Ocean side and the cool and calming waters of the Joe's River on the western side of the property. One may relax in the outdoor area which overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, or sit inside and enjoy the cool fresh breeze of the ocean. Dramatic views from here create excellent photo opportunities! On the way back to your ship, you'll pass through Holetown, with its monument commemorating the landing of the first settlers in 1625.

 

St. Lucia

 

Deluxe Pitons At Ladera Resort

 

Your one-hour and 20 minute journey from Castries takes you to the best view of the Piton mountains from Ladera, the first Caribbean hotel to be rated #1 by Conde Nast Traveler. This little paradise offers an intimate experience and commanding view of the twin peaks. Ladera has opened its doors to Oprah, Bill Gates and many other celebrities like Harrison Ford and Denzel Washington. Renowned chef Orlando Satchell and his staff will prepare lunch for you including his delicious combinations of freshly caught fish and locally-grown, freshly picked products presented in a style of casual elegance. On your return journey, a brief stop at Marigot Bay allows for a final photo opportunity before returning to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age
