Tuan beware very dishonest and arrogant man give us a good price that we paid before leaving home but once tour was in pogress half way they ask for another $40 dollars , that we paid been in the middle of nowhere 50 miles from the ship our original quote was 120 usd for 2 adult so extra charge of 33 % so beware of vietvalue travel they wont respect their contract . but today travel are excellent and very nice . have fun
eabrams Posted December 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted December 2, 2008 We are looking for private guides also. I had been recommended to 2 companies but their prices are outrageous. We are sailing Feb 27th on the Oceania Nautica. What about you? Elaine
jruth4 Posted December 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted December 2, 2008 we will visit Halong Bay City/Hanoi, Danang and Saigon. Does anyone have recommendations on agencies to organize private tours for 4 people We are cruising in south east Asia on 12/16/08. We are using Ann Tours for transportation to and from Halong Bay, an overnight to Hanoi in a hotel, and 1 1/2 days if touring. I've been dealing with Tony. http://www.anntours.com. In Danang, we are going to Hue. For that and touring for two days in Saigon, we are using Buffalo tours. http://www.buffalotours.com. I hope that is helpful to you. -Judith
jalejo Posted December 2, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Judith, Thank you! Why are you using two different agents? How much do you have to pay in advance and how do you pay? Are you sailing with Azamara Quest? Jan
slp123 Posted December 2, 2008 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2008 we will visit Halong Bay City/Hanoi, Danang and Saigon. Does anyone have recommendations on agencies to organize private tours for 4 people I picked Exotissimo tours because they are well established and have a very good reputation. You can find all their services at http://www.exotissimo.com. You need to be very careful in Vietnam who you pick because they all require either full payment or substantial deposits ahead of time so you want to be sure they will be there when you arrive and that they will not be asking for anything than what was previously negotiated. While Exotissimo does require payment in full 3-4 weeks prior to the tour, they set up a direct payment link for you and you use your visa or mastercard credit card to pay so you do have recourse through your merchant bank. But other friends have used them and found them reliable and they are very large and not about to disappear overnight. Exotissimo Travel, one of the pioneers of inbound tourism to Vietnam, was the first European invested joint-venture tourism company to be established in the country. We now employ over 200 full-time travel professionals at our offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and offer a complete range of services including tailor-made tour programmes

We are planning to be on the Quest cruise in 2/10 so I will be very interested in hearing about your cruise when you return as well as your experience with the tour company and any other private guides/tours.
