What time do most shops close?

Does anyone know what time most shops begin to close?

 

Our ship is in port 11/15, from 7am to midnight (Carnival Triumph).

 

Our family will be spending the morning SCUBA diving, afternoon at Paradise Beach, and hope to still find shopping available in the late afternoon/early evening (the other cruise ships depart at 6-7pm).

 

Any thoughts, ideas, or suggestions on shopping?

 

We are hoping it will be easier to haggle with the shopkeepers once the other ships start departing for the day. ;)

As long as there are shoppers on the streets, stores will remain open. Realistically, you can expect them to ALL be open until 7-8pm, some staying open until you depart.

 

The Triumph does have a nice long day in Cozumel!

Thanks CozSally, I was just wondering that, also. We will be in Wed. the 17th and don't leave till midnight either. I see your location say Cozumel, Are you a shop owner there?

The problem is sometimes the shops don't open early enough for the real early ship arrivals. I've seen many shops at Puerta Maya (where I spend the most amount of time) not open until well after the first folks get off the ship.

tjohn159d: Not exactly a shop owner, I am a massage therapist here in Cozumel. I used to be part owner of the minigolf in town, but have returned to bodywork full time, and I'm enjoying it thoroughly.

I just returned from my cruise in Cozumel. The majority of the shops were open after 9 p.m. (my ship was in port until 11 p.m. and I returned to the ship close to nine).

What time do the shops open? We will be there early and going on a tour at 10 A.M. for most of the day. I was hope to get some shopping in before our tour.

What time do shops open? What time do hops close? IMHO, with several trips to the port over the past 2 years: there will be plenty of shops open as the first pax from the first cruise ship in port disembarks and there will be still plenting of shops open along the dock terminal strip when the last ship for the day departs.
